After receiving quotes from several companies, chose Edinburgh Heating for a gas boiler replacement and new TVRs. They were able to give me a wide choice of boiler models and manufacturers (unlike some other contractors who seem to be tied-in to a particular brand) and gave me some excellent unbiased advice about how to choose, which was invaluable. The work was scheduled within a few days, they came when they said they would, did a very professional job and left the property clean and tidy after. Have used them again for some follow-up work and they were just as good. Highly recommended.

Upgraded our Vaillant boiler to a smart thermostat. Iain is very knowledgeable and checked with us beforehand what would work for our setup without any over-selling or pressure to get an over-powered or over-priced bit of tech.
Went above and beyond to ensure everything was hooked up to broadband and working on our smartphones too.

Identifying a boiler fault. The boiler did not get the signal from the receiver to switch off. The property had recently had a new kitchen installed and hence the boiler problem.
Boiler service was also carried out another day.
Very straightforward arranging the repair. Also I was kept informed when Ian would be arriving.

We had our combi boiler installed by Iain Clarke of Edinburgh Heating in 2019. Iain's in depth knowledge and advice have payed dividends in the intervening years. Not once have we had any issues with the boiler he installed for us. That's why I have given this company 5 stars....a more than trusted trader!

Edinburgh Heating have gone out of their way to look after my Vaillant boiler in the past year. The boiler has had an annual service, and the central heating system a power flush. One of the radiators developed a leak a few weeks ago, but this has now been fixed.

Keith from Edinburgh Heating sent out help at short notice on a Friday afternoon when a leak in a heating pipe quickly depressurised our heating system. His team members (Lewis and Kane) were super nice, polite, and professional. They worked hard for a couple of hours under the subfloor to get the problem fixed before the weekend. They left everything tidy and even checked in on the Saturday to make sure things were fixed and still working. Based on my experience I can highly recommend the company and will have no hesitation in calling them again any time.

Iain was prompt to respond to our enquiry about replacing our old boiler. He helped us investigate getting a heat pump but, when this turned out not to be suitable for us, was quick to organise a quotation for a new gas boiler. The engineers were great. They worked neatly and were very considerate to keep disruption to a minimum.

I needed to get a new boiler for my 90 year old mother's flat. Called Edinburgh Heating at 4:52pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Iain came at 6pm that same day to assess what was required, provided a quote for me first thing the following morning, and the engineer (Csin) started work installing a new boiler a few hours later. Cain was very efficient and incredibly patient and polite with my Mother, who is blind, very deaf and not very mobile. A lot of drilling was required behind the kitchen units. Job was completed by Friday lunchtime and the kitchen was spotless. Can't recommend Edinburgh Heating highly enough.

Having used Edinburgh Heating once again to carry out our annual boiler service, a small problem was identified which required a new auto air vent to be fitted to prevent leaks. This work was carried out by Iain a couple of weeks after the service, and as usual, performed in an efficient and professional manner. I had used another company to put in a new mega flow, however the heating did not work so they had to be called again. This person came back and said it would take hours to fix so I thought let’s try some other company and chose Edinburgh Heating and thank god I did . It was sorted in less than an hour by Iain who knows his stuff. I would recommend this company as a 5 star . They know their job and are very nice people too. Had a boiler service but have used this company before for repairs and they've always done a good job. Boiler service was well managed, quick and Cain the engineer was pleasant and helpful.

We wouldn’t consider anyone else for our servicing and repair needs because in the past Iain has patiently solved problems which had baffled our previous service company. This year’s service was as thorough and friendly as ever, with very helpful reporting on the various tests. Although there was a non-urgent option to replace something, there was no pressure at all to commission the additional work.

Cain arrived on time and gave the boiler a thorough inspection. I was relieved that they could do the service as October is a busy time of year.

New boiler, new ventilation system, gas upgrade & whole system flow improvement: Our property is old and the design complex; our heating system is tricky and the "new" regulations for ventilation we knew were going to be a challenge. From our first interaction with Iain we had complete confidence that he could do the job and had a vision for what was possible. He and Cain worked tirelessly to solve the complexities they encountered, using their own obvious skill and reaching out to other experts for advice. Cain was a delight to have in our home & despite some very messy work, left his space spotless every day. Boiler annual service for another year. Brilliant service as always

The hot water from my 18 months old combi boiler was intermittent, so I determined that a service might rectify this issue. The engineer who originally installed the boiler did not fulfil the appointments I made with him to do a yearly service, so it was recommended to me that I contact Edinburgh Heating.

Cain, the heating engineer, came on the requested day, and was thoroughly professional, approachable, and he informed me of everything he was doing. Once the service was completed, Cain showed me the boiler working fully, and the hot water was there. He advised me that the head of the flexible tap was probably blocked up, and that that was contributing to low water pressure from the head, and told me how to clean it. I did so, and the water pressure was /is back to normal.

The next morning, the boiler didn't fire up, and showed an error code. I tried pressing re-set button button, to no avail. I then called Edinburgh Heating, and spoke with Iain, the owner. He advised me that he would speak with Cain, and get back to me. Cain arrived at my door, and identified the problem (a small pocket of air that was causing flame to not ignite) and repaired it. All within 10 minutes.

That was 6 days ago, and everything is now working as it should.

If I were allowed to, I'd give 10 stars.

We have used Edinburgh Heating since 2021 when they installed a new vaillant gas boiler and they have serviced it annually. We have been very pleased with them. Communication has been excellent, the work has been carried out efficiently and tidily. They are a family company and show a high level of care towards their customers.

We had a boiler replaced by Edinburgh Heating and just had them back to service it after a year. Excellent service and very friendly. Would absolutely recommend to anyone needing a boiler replacement/repair/service.

We had a fault light on our boiler and no hot water, they came out and diagnosed the problem as a sensor not working which we had them replace. Since then we noticed a small leak on our boiler a week or so later, the guys came back no problem at no further cost, replaced some washers for us and came a further time to check it whilst the washers were settling in causing the tiniest bit of weeping still. The second fault had no obvious relation to the original work done on the sensor but they were more than happy to help and sorted it out. I would use them again with no reservation and would trust them to come back until the job is right without running up huge bills.

Iain installed an intergas boiler and new water tank and nest thermostat several years ago. Kane did the annual service this week. Punctual, clean and tidy worker and explained what he had done. Fair price for the job a very reliable company to deal with.
