Compass Roofing Ltd was established by Scott J Miller, Managing Director, in 1989. Based in central Edinburgh, Compass Roofing Ltd are well equipped to service Edinburgh and throughout the central belt. The company has an excellent reputation in both private and commercial sectors, from the smallest roof repair to roofing contracts valuing £250K.
Our roof work is carried out by our team of qualified tradesmen and CITB trained apprentices. All our Operatives hold current CSCS cards relating to their trade.
Scott J Miller Managing Director is responsible for estimating, purchasing, and health and safety, whilst Kenneth F Hunter Contracts Manager and Gary Moir Estimator takes care of insuring all contracts are carried out to our usual high standard. The company recently became qualified installers of Alwitra Single Ply Roofing Membrane. This material comes with a 20 year latent defect guarantee, that gives clients piece of mind. Compass Roofing Ltd pride themselves on their honesty and professionalism and ensure that their clients are provided with information about the work they are paying for. The firm believe that they are now in a very strong position to increase their client base, whilst still being able to provide the excellent service they are renowned for.
All our work can be insured, guaranteed and fully protected by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors Limited.

We had a new insulated membrane roof installed together with some pointing work, guttering and a new cupola and skylight.
The work began quickly after agreeing the contract and Scott's team were polite, friendly and very happy to answer our questions as the work progressed and flexible about incorporating additional works we requested.
At one stage we were considering getting solar PV installed at the same time as the new roofing and Compass were very happy to work closely with the solar installers, though for planning reasons we didn't go ahead with that in the end.
The pricing turned out to be identical to a homer quote we got but Compass offered a guarantee and were able to do the other work like pointing and the cupola so we went with them. They took great care to protect our glass conservatory by covering it over with boards and cleaned up after themselves.
On the basis of our experience, I've no hesitation in recommending Compass if you want a single ply membrane flat roof done.

Excellent work and service from Scott and his team:
- new insulation and single ply membrane on top flat roof
- new slating, lead work, rones and in-roof solar pv panels on rear sloping roof
- old cupolas replaced with beautiful new sky lanterns in top roof
- new glazed attic exit hatch to roof
- two replacement chimney pots
High quality professional work using top quality materials, and Scott provided a lot of help in selecting the sky lanterns and the optimum installation for them.

My neighbour and I had chimney fixed in May.The work was done by three friendly workmen Dean Jordan and Gary, who did a good job worked very efficiently and cleaned up after job was finished.

Very impressed with how prompt, friendly and professional Compass Roofing were. They did a fantastic job and repaired our roof including basic mistakes made by another company just months earlier. The office staff were so efficient and friendly. The man who came to inspect the roof and provide and estimate was very thorough and professional, and then the roofers who came to carry out the work (just days after my initial phone call) were also friendly and thorough. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company or use them again in future if necessary. Thanks!!

I cannot recommend Compass Roofing highly enough. They provided services for a job that 2 other roofing companies had turned down because the access, and job, was complicated. They delivered a quality solution at a fair price, with a really helpful attitude. 5 star.

From my initial enquiry and receiving our quotation through to the final stage of works completed I found the team at Compass Roofing communicated all aspects of the process efficiently and clearly. I was impressed by the time taken to actively listen to our needs and requirements. I acted on behalf of a stair of 6 neighbours being both owners and council tenants and have lead the job from start to finish. Due to the amount of works required and the cost per household we had to be certain that we were all in agreement to use the service of Compass. After looking into Compass Roofing history of works and discussion with the team i felt confident that they were ideal to complete the works. Now the works have been completed the right decision was made and all parties happy.

This family owned and run Company have now completed two reroofing projects for us.
One, on our home, replacing an old "Rosemary" tiles and copper mansard roof with reclaimed slate, new lead work and new single ply membrane included stripping the old roof, and repairing/replacing sarking.
The second, the roof to a terraced rental property where an old slate roof roof with dormers was replaced with new slate and lead and included removal of old roof, replacement of rotten sarking and replacement of all the rainwater goods.
I believe the fact we have used them on two properties speaks for itself. All their staff are real Tradesmen and we have allways found them very pleasant and polite. Their work sites are well organised and tidy and Scott, the owner, and his son, Lewis, ensure that their high standards are maintained by giving each project the attention it deserves !
I would recommend Compass unreservedly.

With heavy rain pouring through the roof of our building, we called on Compass Roofing to sort the problem, although they were extremely busy with other emergency call outs they were on scene within an hour of our phone call. Within minutes the build up of water on the roof channels had gone and the leak was brought under control, this saved over a centuries old cornice ceiling from further damage and potentially a very large bill to repair.

Found Compass after searching the web for a local company to replace a velux window in an en-suite bathroom. The service was 1st class from the initial contact to final installation. Would not hesitate to recommend Compass to anyone needing this kind of work carried out.

5th floor tenement gutter & slate defects requiring scaffolding tower. Efficient and professional approach. Happy to talk on site through defects and proposed solutions . Gave good advice on possible future repair risks to watch out for. They did what they said they would do in a sensible time frame.

Friendly and helpful in the whole process from quote to installation. Installation went well and job was finished to high standard. Support staff went out of their way to help out with paperwork I needed to get agreement from neighbours for shared cost. I plan to use them for any future roof issues but given the high quality of the job they did I don't imagine that will be necessary for a long time.

We had an issue with a leaking roof, Compass were able to come out and provide a quote for the repairs which was very reasonable. It was easy to coordinate and communicate with Compass throughout the entire process. A very helpful and professional experience.

Slates in the roof over our boiler had broken and shifted allowing water to leak into the boiler blowing the electrics. Compass Roofing came out within 24hrs and were able to fix it within hours of the gas engineer leaving and we had hot water again that night. Brilliant short notice save and for a reasonable price. Reliable team of guys, they were really friendly and explained clearly what the problem was, and they were happy to do the work too.
Scott from Compass always answered our phone calls and returned to check the work over. Photos were available of before and after. The team also showed me what the previous company has done and how ineffective and poorly executed it had been.
The new gutters look amazing and more importantly now work.
