Compass Roofing Ltd was established by Scott J Miller, Managing Director, in 1989. Based in central Edinburgh, Compass Roofing Ltd are well equipped to service Edinburgh and throughout the central belt. The company has an excellent reputation in both private and commercial sectors, from the smallest roof repair to roofing contracts valuing £250K.
Our roof work is carried out by our team of qualified tradesmen and CITB trained apprentices. All our Operatives hold current CSCS cards relating to their trade.
Scott J Miller Managing Director is responsible for estimating, purchasing, and health and safety, whilst Kenneth F Hunter Contracts Manager and Gary Moir Estimator takes care of insuring all contracts are carried out to our usual high standard. The company recently became qualified installers of Alwitra Single Ply Roofing Membrane. This material comes with a 20 year latent defect guarantee, that gives clients piece of mind. Compass Roofing Ltd pride themselves on their honesty and professionalism and ensure that their clients are provided with information about the work they are paying for. The firm believe that they are now in a very strong position to increase their client base, whilst still being able to provide the excellent service they are renowned for.
All our work can be insured, guaranteed and fully protected by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors Limited.

We have a bad water leak from our roof which resulted in water ingress into two flats. I phoned Kelly at Compass roofing and she had trades there the following morning and repaired the defect. Cant thank them enough.

We have an old and complex roof. Compass advised that the rear section needed replacing and the other sections could be repaired. The work included stripping the rear roof faces, re-slating, new gutters, repairing flat areas, lead work and replacing the cupola.
We are very pleased with the result. The men were very professional and tidying up every day. They kept us posted on progress and provided photos of before and after.
We would definitely recommend them.

Wooden fascia on porch replaced, gutter re fixed to fascia & painted. A bit of a delay initially to get a quote as they were busy but once I confirmed job the work was carried out very quickly & satisfactorily. Appeared expensive for work needing done but fairly comparable with other quotes.

We had a small leak in our roof caused by a number of slates being our of place.
Compass looked at the job when they said they would, and they actually sent us a quote!
When we accepted, they arranged the scaffolding for access, got the work done quickly and quietly, and left everything looking neat and tidy.

Compass inspected, promptly estimated and then carried out a downpipe repair on the tenement building I live in.
I can have no objections to either the efficiency of their scaffolding contractor or the speed with which the work was carried out .This was a trouble-free building repair and a smooth and professional transaction. The work was performed to the highest quality and in a timely manner.
Would have no hesitation about engaging them again for any work on downpipes, gutters or the roof itself.

We used Compass for some routine maintenance work on our tenement. Compass were helpful while arranging access for the cherry picker. From the initial visit to quote and once on site the whole team were friendly, professional and efficient and took the time to answer our questions properly. We were very pleased with the service overall and would use them again.

I had an issue with a leak in my roof which was causing water to come through into the house via the water trap and valley of my dormer window. I called several companies who had given me various quotes and probable causes for the issue (including one the wanted to rebuild half if the roof).
I was recommended by a work colleague to try Compass. They came around and within minutes had worked out the leak was due to a slipped slate and broken slate, as well as debris in the valley of the dormer.
The quote they gave me was great and was for replacing the damaged slates plus any other broken/slipped slates, cleaning out the gutters and providing the roof with a detailed inspection.
The work was carried out within the next few weeks and has sorted the issue.
I cannot recommend this company enough the work was quick and completed to a high standard plus all communication has been speedy and very helpful.

Damaged chimney removed. Very slight problem with what looked like leaking cement....difficult to explain....but whatever it was rain has eventually washed the “ stain” away. I was quickly reassured this would not have compromised the roof re storm proofing.
I definitely would use the company again. Everyone including especially the office team extremely helpful.

I had my roof repaired after damage caused over time and by the storm. It was a very busy time for all roofing companies however Compass Roofing were able to come out and do emergency repairs within a week before completing the full job within the month. They communicated with me very well and were extremely helpful. They also carried out the work for over £1500 less than the company that gave me my first quote. It was my first time dealing with a roofing company and I can't imagine using anyone else in the future. Would highly recommend.

Extensive repairs carried out comprising replacement of kitchen extension roof with new slates and removal of conservatory’s glass roof to allow remedial work and reseal. All work carried out to a high standard by hard working team. Team were well polite, well mannered and respectful of our property. You could tell they took great pride in their work.

compass repaired damaged exisiting sofit and replaced to a higher standard and refurb the paint work, their workman ship was excellent, the office handled the quote, and booking really well and kept us well informed with the long covid delays. the building is a 4 story block and they manage to use a cherry picker with very little distruption. Every person i dealt with was kind, polite and patient. i would definately recomment this company for roofing work and we as a block will continue to use them as required. Nothing but praise for them
