We are Rope Access working at height professionals offering an alternative to having expensive scaffolding installed - We are the equivalent of modern day Steeplejacks
We carry out : Rooftop ,Building and Facade inspections / maintenance and cleaning, providing full detailed photographic reports using Rope Access Techniques ,( No need for scaffolding ).
High level gutter cleaning and unblocking / leaky joints repaired and vegetation removal, nuisance bird deterrent measures
Loose High level stonework, coping stones and balustrades made safe /repaired, re-pointing and cement repairs
High level painting and glazing /mastic and silicone pointing /curtain walling
High level slate and tile repairs / lead flashings/chimneys capped, re-pointed even removed (controlled demolition )
Company Director Phil Norris is an IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Safety Supervisor & an OPITO level 1 rigger;
With over thirty five years experience in the roofing and working at height industry onshore and also offshore within the oil and gas sector.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend A.I.M North Ltd. This is an excellent firm.
Phil and team did a good job of window fascias at height, and also (I noticed) gave the gutter a clean while they were there (a wee freebie?). They re-arranged their schedule to fit around the window fitters.
Phil was really easy to communicate with, comes across as trustworthy, straight talking, can-do. I'd had quotes from other firms, who didn't have the quality of customer interaction (it seems like quite a 'macho' job, but there's no 'macho attitude' or patronising chat from Phil, which is appreciated).
The job was fairly priced and materials receipts were provided (so costs were transparent). Be careful who you go with in Edinburgh - one of the quotes was almost twice as dear as A.I.M North Ltd.

We were very happy with the work undertaken by Phil. Very professional and slick organisation, they clearly know what they were doing and have left our gutters beautifully cleaned out ready for winter. They even sent us photographs of their work.

Our roof had slates missing and a suspected issue with our side chimney. On contacting the company, Phil responded quickly and provided a reasonable quote for the work expected. He arrived on time to undertake the work and his communication was really good throughout, keeping us up to date on what he was doing and where works were needed.
Despite difficult weather conditions, Phil and his team mate completed the work quickly and safely. He had a really professional, friendly and pragmatic approach to the work needed & I wouldn't hesitate to use him again if we need roof works doing in the future.

We had A.I.M. out to clear our guttering in our city centre tenement. Communication was great, really straightforward and responsive. They arrived when they said they would, and were very respectful of the house and pleasant to deal with. I will absolutely use them again, and would recommend them happily.

AIM North Ltd were brilliant in the work that they did. They were helpful and most importantly straight talking. They told me exactly what was needed and provided advice on what needed to be done.
On top of this they were professional, friendly and communicated extremely well with me.
I would highly recommend this company especially for somebody that doesn’t have all the knowledge or understanding regarding roof and guttering repairs and maintenance.

We had storm damage to the flat part of our roof, roof hatch and a chimney pot down. Phil from AIM North came round the next day to do a temporary repair to reduce the amount of water getting in. The permanent repair was done once the weather improved. The work was done to a high standard and the quote we received was competitive compared to others.
We've also used AIM North previously for some pointing work and gutter clearance and have had great service.
We will use them again for any maintenance or remedial work and would recommend them without hesitation.

Phil and Chris worked around the weather and sympathetically with our over 200 year old building and its quirks.
Lead work and re-slating were the main work, but window frames were sanded, filled and painted as well.

We instructed Phil to have a look at our roof (detached bungalow in Blackhall). He came back to us straight away and turned up timely when advised. A detailed quote was provided reflecting exactly the work required. He didn't try to complicate matters and charge for superfluous work. We had bad experiece before when another roofing company advising us that the roof was beyond repair and needed full replacement when clearly this is not the case. Even after a bad storn which had caused a lot of damage to roofs in Edinburgh, Phil gave us a slot and carried out the work promptly providing pictures of the repair.
I would highly recommend AIM North Ltd for any work to your roof.

Phil and a colleague repaired cracks in several of our chimney skews, cleaned the gutters, and replaced slates. (It's one of these complicated Edinburgh tenement roofs.) Obviously time will tell how well it was done, but two weeks later there are no leaks despite heavy rain, so it looks good.
Excellent customer service all the way through: Phil came for an estimate, listened (which is remarkably unusual for tradesmen) to what we needed, gave a reasonable estimate in good time, showed up when he said he would, actually seemed to enjoy the work, and answered some questions even after we had paid up. Sent some photos with the both the estimate and the invoice, which was also appreciated.

I am delighted that AIM North were recommended to me by a friend. I can’t fault their service at all! Phil came to review my roof the day I called then e-mailed a quote with photos. Phil's company is exceptional! I asked him to quote for some roof, guttering and masonry work. He came to look at the job promptly, did a thorough investigation and explained clearly what needed to be done, showing great patience with my numerous basic questions. The price was very reasonable and AIM North even included a couple of small additional jobs while completing the work.
As the work was a shared repairs job, it took a while to source the funds. Phil was very understanding and scheduled the work to allow me to get the funds in place. The work was done efficiently and to a very high standard. The AIM North team are friendly, helpful and highly professional. I strongly recommend them!

Phil and his team carried out slate roof and chimney/ stonework repairs along with painting of the downpipes and gutter on our tenement building. Communication with Phil was quick and easy from the initial quote request, arranging a visit within a couple of days and providing photos with key detailed information of the work required. This was especially helpful to share with all owners in the building.
They were able to fit the job into the busy schedule ensuring the building was watertight ahead of the winter months. The team completing the work were very efficient and professional keeping me updated throughout. All of the work was carried out to a very high standard. Would definitely use again and also highly recommended to others.
