Buchanan Bathrooms

We have used Buchanan Bathrooms on numerous occasions. Our latest job was a bathroom upgrade in March 2024. They came and ascertained the project and provided a detailed quote and dates of availability. The project was carried out on time, to a very high standard, with the team cleaning up and keeping us informed on a daily basis. I have no hesitation in recommending Buchanan Bathrooms and will happily use them again in the future.

We had a bathroom and w.c recently replaced by Buchanan Bathrooms and we are absolutely delighted with both of them. A great company and we would highly recommend them.

I initially chose Buchanan Bathrooms to convert a small downstairs cloakroom into a shower / wet room based on the positive reviews I’d read about their work. I was so pleased with the completed job that I brought the team back to re-model my main bathroom. Without hesitation I’d give them 5 stars and I can wholeheartedly recommend them.

In all my dealings with the Buchanan Bathroom team, from my initial discussions with Jen about what I was looking for, her valuable advice on all practical aspects of the job, for example, appropriate layout, fittings, tiles, pricing and timetabling, through to the high standard of work carried out by Alistair and Dave, they were professional and a pleasure to deal with. The level of communication at all times was great and I’m delighted with the finished results for both wet room and bathroom. Buchanan Bathrooms replaced and significantly upgraded our main family bathroom, an en-suite bathroom and a further bathroom.

The work was done over a number of weeks so was substantial in its nature, and involved a complete strip back removing everything including floors, ceiling existing tiling etc.

Their work was first class and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. They gave great advice, and have an eye for detail in terms of ensuring the aesthetics were spot on. I’d say they provide good value, are very reliable and are genuinely very nice people who I was very comfortable leaving in my house to get on with things.

We converted a small bedroom next to the principal bedroom into an ensuite bathroom.

The first step was to get an architect to design the layout, maximising the use of the small space.

The next step was to choose the numerous and bewildering variety of fittings: tiles, shower and shower heads, shower screen, radiator, toilet and seat, double sink and taps, sunken cupboards, cup holders, etc. Jen Buchanan steered us through this process, giving us many excellent suggestions, arranged for us to see fittings at suppliers, and ensured that we got value for money.

Then Alistair and his colleague Dave began the construction phase of the project. They removed the door and architrave from the wall separating the small bedroom from the hall, filled in the empty space with woodwork, and then plastered over the whole wall. They created another opening in the wall separating the small bedroom from the principal bedroom and fitted the door and architrave from the hall to it. The floor to the small bedroom was uneven, so they ripped it out, put the rubble in between the joists to promote sound proofing, and then fitted a new plywood floor.
The house was built in 1886 and the rooms have 11' ceilings. Hence, they constructed a lower, false ceiling in the small bedroom. Then tiled the floor and the walls, leaving an appropriate space between the height of the tiles and the ceiling to be painted. Finally, they installed the various fittings and removed an old Victorian radiator and replaced it with a modern one. In short, they did all the carpentry, tiling, plastering, and plumbing work; they also supplied an excellent electrician; we supplied the painter who was doing other work in the house.

Most important, they kept mess and dust to a minimum. They put drop cloths everywhere they worked; hoover up any debris on the stairs at the end of the day, and used a power exhaust fan to suck the dust out of a window in the principal bedroom.

Alistair and Dave were polite and pleasant people to have around the house. We were delighted with the job and have no hesitation in recommending the firm.

From initial design to fitting the bathroom I was very satisfied with the standard of work carried out by Buchanan Bathrooms.

Bathroom was taken right back and completely refitted. The attention to detail was to very high standard.

Buchanan bathroom team were very reliable, kept update of the progress. I would highly recommend to friends and family.
