This was a rescue operation, after another company had left a job with obvious defects and no prospect of rectification. I called Wisharts due to experiencing an issue wuth my thermostat in my new build where by my heating would not turn off. Wishart's were very accomodating and came out the very next day to look at the thermostat. Both Lindsey and Scott were great and kept me informed about the work. In a week i had brand new thermostats which are much easier to use and my boiler was serviced too. I would not hesitate to use Wishart's again.

Had a boiler replaced with a new one. We were told they could potentially fix the old one, but because of its age recommended we get a new one. Not pushy in the least. We were offered a Baxi and offered different options for guarantee lengths, we went for the 10 year. The engineers Jack and Chad were excellent, friendly, polite and careful. They were very professional and made sure that everything worked well and that they had removed all rubbish when they left. They even had to install a separate fuse box and the more experienced of the two walked the other one through it to explain what he was doing and why... good to see colleagues training and helping each other. The boss came by as well to check everything was ok. Professional from start to finish and we were put on the list to get it serviced each year. So nice to have a boiler installed proerly as I don't think our old one was, we now have hot water when we need it, will use this company again for other plumbing.

Wisharts have just fitted a new central heating system in our family home which was built in 1832. This was a big job involving removal of the old system fitted in the 1950s and installation of an all new gas system. The workmanship is excellent, the team were so professional and helpful and explained everything very clearly at all stages. The house is now so warm and comfortable! Would highly recommend.

J W Wishart installed a new boiler and new shower/shower cubicle and new wash hand basin/vanity unit for my mum. Firstly from start to finish customer care was evident to be a high priority - no matter who you spoke with whether it was the office or the workmen, they were helpful, polite and considerate.

The work was done to a very high standard and they did what they said they would do, when they said they would. That is rare these days!!

My shower was not heating the water. Scott came with a quote and within a couple of days I had a new one fitted. Part of the wet wall was replaced with an exact match and the work was faultless. Annual maintenance of gas boiler. Wisharts have been our plumber for all our plumbing needs for over 35 years and have never let us down. They are always quick to respond if we have had any emergencies and have helped us with maintenance and repairs to heating and other plumbing work in the different homes we have lived in over the years. Perhaps a wee bit more expensive than some other plumbers but what price reliability?

I needed to have a 30+ year old gas boiler replaced with a modern unit but the task was complicated because of uncertainty regarding adequacy of gas pressure and access to essential areas of the pipework etc.
Mr Wishart provided good advice as to how best to accomplish the desired aims and he patiently answered my many queries about the work always giving full information and, where possible, alternatives. The work was carried out to the planned timetable and within the agreed budget by a proferssional and cheerful team who did an excellent job and fully cleared up afterwards.

We have used JW Wishart for over half a century , an outstanding company and top of the range professionals.

Scott arrived to give advice and a quote for replacing a full bathroom suite. He hand delivered the quote the following morning and the detail within the quote allowed us to view the items online, which was very useful and gave us an insight into how the completed job would look. On the agreed day for the work to start, 2 operatives arrived and laid down plastic sheeting to protect our carpets. The men were very professional, courteous, and explained everything they were doing. Scott visited twice to check on progress and advise on any issues that arose. The guys worked diligently and are a credit to a very professional company. Upon completion the waste was removed and the area cleaned up. I have no hesitation in recommending them and will use them in the future should the need arise.

Our gas central heating boiler developed a fault. Within a couple of hours of reporting the problem an engineer arrived and having diagnosed the cause of the problem gave us the option of a repair or boiler replacement. Because our boiler was ancient we opted for a new boiler and the following day the boiler of our choice was fitted. There are good and bad trades people but only the exceptional ones can be described as excellent and this trader is firmly in the excellent category.

If I could give 10 stars I would! Wishart’s have been looking after my relatives heating for years. They have always been reliable, helpful and affordable. Just last week we had an emergency and within a few hours Scott visited and we had a solution. Within a few days a new boiler was fitted. We’re in a listed building on a High St, with the boiler located up two flights of stairs. Some new plumbing was required to support the newer system and roof work too. Not the simplest of jobs.

Central heating boiler issue and boiler service. Wishart’s attended within 2 days of me contacting them (just before Christmas break). My initial request was for a boiler service but on their attendance it was apparent that there was a serious issue with water within the workings of the boiler. Dependent on the water damage, we were warned that this could mean a new boiler. John stripped it down, allowed it to dry out and part(s) replaced. We were going on holiday and John kept us updated with the progress and outcome. John’s skills saved the day and only a repair was required (relieved the week before Christmas!).

We had a boiler service done as we have done every year since the boiler was installed. The engineers are always professional, efficient and considerate. Our last service for October 2024 was completed by two young men whose names sadly we did not catch. They were very polite and respectful. A credit to the company.

I needed a cistern fixed which had stopped working. The first plumber I phoned couldn’t fit me in for six weeks! I phoned Wishart’s and they gave me an appointment for 2 days later. They phoned again the day before to confirm that the appointment time still suited and let me know who would be coming and roughly what time. Connor arrived promptly, quickly worked out what was wrong, explained everything to me and fixed it without fuss. From start to finish I found the Wishart staff pleasant, capable and reliable and should I need a plumber in the future, I will be using Wishart’s and hoping that Connor is free.

My oil storage tank failed, which forced me to have it replaced. JD Wishart Plumbing provide a fast & flexible service throughout their various visit to site as the job progressed from emptying / removal & replacement of tank / commission system after the tank had been refilled.

We found the water in our bathroom sink was taking a while to drain, after trying the usual household names nothing worked. After contacting Wishart the guys came out the same day as they were on holiday for the Easter break day after. They saw the problem straight away and cleared the blockage in the pipe. All good now and have used them many a time as a family.

Recently came out on a Sunday to do an emergency repair (at very short notice). Sorted out problem immediately. Installed new boiler a few years ago and carries out annual maitenance work. All work is qucik,clean and efficient. Would strongly recommend them.

Regular boiler service

Since Wishart's installed a new Baxi boiler for us in 2021 we have arranged each year since to have it serviced. Our third service was booked in for this week. The company advised us beforehand to have the heating system switched off in advance which we did. The two engineers attended in the scheduled window and were very friendly but inobtrusive. They carried out the full service and dealt efficiently with the replacement of a small part.

We had a toilet fitted by Conner last week, he was friendly, knowledgeable and tidy. From phoning Wishart to getting an estimate and the job being done everything went smoothly and in record time. We will not hesitate in using this company again. Very reliable.

J W Wishart installed a combi boiler and gas warm air heating in my flat in January 2023. In January 2024, they carried out its first service at a very reasonable cost.

Had my 16 years old Combi boiler originally installed by J W Wishart replaced as well as a new toilet pan. Found the workmen really courtious and polite at all times when working in my house, plus the quality of the finished work by them was of a really high quality and looked to have been done by someone who takes pride in what they do which makes a difference when you see the finished work and not just chucked in and working no matter what the pipework etc looks like.
