The Edinburgh Joiner

Myself and my partner moved into our home recently and have been on an ongoing mission to renovate rooms one by one. We have generally been determined to renovate as much as possible on our own, however when it came to our kitchen, we realised we needed someone to help us through this process. After searching for a trusted joiner for a good few months, and contacting people with no reply, we were finally recommended Corrie by a trusted electrician, and he came in to do what felt initially like a nightmare project - a complete rip put and start again on an old house with wonky walls and old fixtures.

Corrie came in to do an initial look around and finalise a quote for us, and, being worried ourselves how it would go, were immediately put at ease. Neither myself or my partner have any experience in project management and, despite specialising in the joinery specifically, Corrie was able to talk us through the steps and processes of renovating the full kitchen and broke this down well.

Corrie’s communication from the start to the end of the project was infallible. He was professional, communicative, and generally went above and beyond with the project, with attention to detail around every component. Where there were any questions or miscommunications (on our part), he was amazing at ironing these out as they happened, and generally you can tell he cares for his work. He made no question sound too silly or small, and was incredibly helpful through the whole process, including contacting our other tradespeople about the work, also.

Corrie’s costings were fair and transparent throughout the process.

On a different note - being a young female, finding tradespeople that are transparent and that you feel comfortable and trusting with having in your home and space can be difficult, and we have had issues with this in the past. Corrie made the process around home renovation as easy as possible throughout the whole process, and this wasn’t an issue.

I could not recommend Corrie highly enough. Any future renovation project for which joinery will be needed in the home, we will contact him for, as his attention to detail, communication, and general care for the job is unparalleled, and we feel we can trust him!

Corrie did a lovely bespoke built in wardrobe in our top floor bedroom the room had a vey difficult dimensions but he came up with a creative solution and delivered high standards work

I hired Corrie on a couple of occasions whilst renovating a property. Initially, to help do some first fix stud work. I then re-hired him later in the job to assist with skirting, architrave and other various 2nd fix joinery. Corrie was excellent from start to finish. His communication, work ethic and quality end product were first rate, I would happily recommend Corrie to future clients. Its no coincidence I rehired him as soon as I required a joiner.

Corrie did a fantastic job on our loft. His work is top quality, he kept everything tidy, and he was dead easy to deal with from start to finish. Can't recommend him enough.

I highly recommend The Edinburgh Joiner Corrie Brimer who recently hand built a beautiful fitted set of cupboards for my study. The quality of the craftsmanship is absolutely excellent and the custom build fits the space perfectly. The detail of the work on the wood is superb. Great communication and fantastic work from start to finish.

I am also truly delighted with the window replacement. Corrie took out the old ugly large window and replaced it with an updated modern window of very high quality as I didn’t want upvc. This is an aluminium window which has a very slimline profile and looks extremely elegant showing off my garden to perfection. It looks sleek and maximises the light in the room. The framing and finish completely seamless.

Corrie also tailor made French Provençal shutters for the exterior of my house. The shutters slide along in an effortless motion along the tracks. Ingenious design and I am over the moon with the result. This is a very talented man. The bespoke craftsmanship of the design has solved my summer sun problems of the room being too hot and has enhanced my outside space. Outstanding work!

He also put up insect chains to stop insects entering when my doors are open. Extremely effective and pretty too. Done with skill and precision.

Corrie, was excellent in every way. Once we had agreed a plan he was methodical in his execution of the work and turned when we had agreed and we were not disappointed with the end result.
Would happily recommend him to family and friends and will use again for future works we have upcoming.
