This was a very really professional service. The gardeners arrived on time, were approachable and well-equipped for the task and dealt with a very untidy garden efficiently.

We had a garden tidy up done yesterday by Nathan and Sean, and wanted to say how extremely pleased we were with the work done. They worked steadily, tackling some challenging overgrown garden plants, shrubs, grass and weeds. They completely transformed our garden! It was as if a magic wand had been waved! They were friendly, and very tidy, removing every scrap of waste when they left. A bonus for us was that they fixed our garden hose, which we had been unable to get working without leaking!

I used Spruce Gardens for hedge cutting. I have long, high hedges in my back garden and was really impressed by the professional service and care that the gardeners took over the job.

Spruce was recommended to me by a neighbour some time ago and I have my hedges cut 2 or 3 times in the year.
I am always pleased with the work done, and the guys are friendly.
Yesterday I had the 2 hedged trimmed and I noticed they were using a blower
after trim. The driveway is a red stoned slope and they blew the cutting down onto the pavement. This morning I went out to tidy the rose plot! it had all been done and looked so nice. Well done guys!

We were very happy with the work done in our garden. The two men worked hard. They were knowledgeable and efficient. They consulted us when necessary and did an excellent job. They carefully hand weeded borders and cut the grass and did all the edging. They swept up leaves and pruned back a fuscia which covered a wall, cotoneaster on another wall and camellias and ivy. Two more men were brought in in the afternoon to help to finish the job in a day. They cleared an area I had not been able to deal with for a long time. My first reaction to the price was that it was expensive but having had the work done I believe it was well worth it.

Absolutely fabulous. Craig came around to discuss our requirements, soon afterwards Willie, Scott and Neil were around installing our lovely new porcelain patio. They also did a few other bits and bobs, nothing was too much trouble. It was a joy having them here for a week, great service, quality workmanship - looking forward to getting them back to do more work. Thanks guys.

I’ve just had a completely positive experience with this company. The person who estimated the job turned up on time and was polite and friendly: the team of initially three then two who came to do the job could not have been more cheerful, helpful and efficient. And all for what seemed a very fair price.

Spruce did a fantastic job for us in our new build property. We asked them to:

* Dog-proof the fence
* Add a planted border around the garden
* Build herb planters, forming a patio area
* Build a bin shed and add extra slabs for it to sit in

They talked us through our ideas and worked with us to develop them into a solid plan. The work was done to a very high standard and we're very pleased with the results. Everyone we worked with was friendly and professional.

We have future plans for more landscaping in the garden and we'll certainly be asking Spruce to do this for us.

Spruce levelled a vegetable patch for us, assembled and installed wooden planters, and carried out a winter tidy-up. All done well and on time - and we now have them looking after our garden on a regular maintenance programme. Their teams are very polite and hard working. It’s a pleasure to deal with a good, reliable company!

I am delighted with the extension of my aviary. The boys worked diligently thought the wind and rain and finished the job in a timely manner. We have downsized to a new-build house with a much smaller garden (tiny really!). We brought some cherished plants from our old garden but discovered that the topsoil layer was very thin covering all sorts of builder’s rubble – nothing would grow!
We decided to redevelop, drew up some initial ideas of what we would like and looked for a local landscaper – we liked the look of Spruce/Puzzled Monkey and asked them for ideas and a ballpark quote. We settled on a “tiered” layout which would accommodate our cherished plants and give scope for a colourful, easily maintained layout.
The work went smoothly, and we are delighted with the result. The team worked constantly through atrocious weather, responded to modifications and cleared up well.

Communication and time keeping were excellent. The team worked through all weathers. They had to come through my house to access the site and were careful and respectful of my property. Every evening they cleared up the site and the access at the front of my property.

I was consulted and updated at all stages during the work and the team were always polite, friendly and approachable

I had Spruce come again prior to the winter to do a garden tidy up. This includes weeding, borders, planter prune and clear out, grass cut and a general winter ready service. My garden is not large but I have zero green fingers so having the team come for a few hours is well worth it. The team are always helpful, do the job with a smile (in all weathers) and leave the garden spotless/looking great. They will also suggest what could be done to improve or try something a bit different. Would recommend to anyone looking for garden services.

I had a front and back garden tidy up, a patio laid, removal of trellis covered in very thick ivy and a new fence erected in its place and finally back garden borders widened and shaped. All work was undertaken between March 25 - Nov 25. I am delighted with all the work undertaken.

All the staff were marvellous, patient and very hardworking I would have no hesitation in recommending them and I hope to use them again.

I had a hedge (forsythia) removed, old fence posts removed, a very overgrown border (jasmine) cleared ready for planting and a huge bay tree brought back under control.
Nathan & Gregor arrived promptly and discussed the job professionally. They did the work to a high standard and left my garden very neat and tidy. The bay tree was left looking really good. Everything was taken away and the area swept and the garden was tidied up. And the work was completed in a day.

Had both front and rear garden cleared and tidied. Rear garden especially had been neglected and required some major weeding, cutting, pruning, clearing, patio clearance etc. The team of Kane, Gregor and Robbie (working over two days) were excellent - hard working, efficient, motivated and very happy to answer any queries I had and/or give advice on how best to progress.

Outstanding from start to finish.

Spruce/Puzzled monkey installed our driveway and finished a patio and lawn that a previous contractor failed to do due to major issues they (the previous contractor) had created. Due to the issues we had with a previous landscaping contractor, we kept an eye on the work Spruce/Puzzled Monkey were doing. We quickly came to realise that we had no need for concern.

Craig did the initial site visit where we discussed options and possible solutions.

Willie (site manager) followed up shortly before the works were due to start to double check what was agreed. He also made a couple of good suggestions on improvements to the driveway bin storage area.

The team turned up led by Sam who was outstanding, and clearly very knowledgeable. Sam, each day, kept us updated on what they planned to do, and was able to answer any questions we had. All team members were respectful, professional and hardworking, so our thanks also go to Neil, Zander (apprentice) and others.

Crucially, Sam took sufficient time to think through solutions to drainage from the driveway where the four borders needed to be at different heights. Drainage goes into a soakaway they installed in the ground, complying with Scottish Government regulations and guidance.

Spruce also liaised with a Blacksmith we contracted in order that posts for the driveway gates could be put in accurately at the correct time, so as not to adversely affect the overall appearance of the drive.

We now have a new driveway, small patio and lawn area with stepping stones, all of which are great. 10/10 guys! We would definitely recommend Spruce Garden Services/Puzzled Monkey.

I just had annual maintenance work done and have used Spruce Garden Services for a few years. The work is carried out to a high standard and all the workers are very respectful and professional. I am delighted with the result.

Professional in all aspects of this gardening work. From original quote, to arranging a suitable date, to arriving on time, checking on work to be completed through to fine job and excellent clearing up, we were delighted with all members of the Spruce team. Coupled this with an efficient, friendly and cheery office team, we couldn't recommend this company highly enough.

Work was performed to remove three leylandii hedges recently. The approach taken was to not just cut the trees and perform a simply stump grinding activity but to dig out the entire root ball by hand for each hedge. This has the advantage that it leaves the us greater flexibility over how to use the ground in future. This team are 100% not afraid of hard work!

I had a lot of garden maintenance - mainly hedge trimming and cutting down height on bushes. It ending up taking two men two full working days. I was very pleased with the result and the garden is looking great now. I was particularly pleased with the way that Nathan led and conducted the work on the second day - weeding and tidying that went beyond the 'brief'. Clearly, his professional pride and work ethic motivates him to do the best possible job. My only reason for four rather than five stars was the sharp increase in price from the previous year (although I knew about this in advance from the quotation given). Admittedly there was slightly more work than in 2024, but the price had more than doubled. A lot of things have got more expensive, so I accept this is now just the current rate. But, overall, excellent work.

Garden tidy up and tackle large privet hedge, small garden but needs a lot of attention and agility to get at the hedge and other shrubs. They do a fine job and always leave it neat, tidy and take away all the rubbish. Highly recommended

I very much appreciated the speed with which Spruce Garden Services responded to my call for some extra work to be fitted in prior to a previously arranged job. The work of pruning to manageable size a tangled and rampant tree was carried out over an afternoon during which Nathan and Kane worked continuously. They did the job perfectly, tidied up thoroughly afterwards and even cut up some of the loppings into fire logs for me. Splendid!

We had seen a few people for quotes, but they say you just know and we had a good feeling from the outset when meeting with Craig the owner. Fair to say the team did a fantastic job! Particular thanks to Jason and Neil, they were both hard working, informative, knowledgeable and took real pride in the work they did. Jason being the lead was an absolute pleasure to deal with and kept us updated throughout, he really knows porcelain. Willie was also great and gave another layer of assurance. I have no concerns in highly recommending them. We now have the oasis we were after and are looking forward to enjoying it, so thanks again guys.

Spruce carried out a general winter tidy up of our town garden. As always, they were punctual, very responsive and carried out an excellent job, cutting back shrubs to our specification and taking away all the garden waste.

I had 3 small trees and 12 old roses removed from my small garden 2 Salix and a Ceanothus).
Mathew and Alex (C) did a great job. They managed to remove the trees with minimal disturbance to other planting. They were very pleasant, professional and helpful. As well as the tree/rose removal they did a bit of a tidy up of the garden which was not expected. I was very pleased with work carried out.

The front garden was in need of a tidy. They pruned hedges, cut and strimmed the lawn, dug out rose bushes, hand weeded beds and gravel area.

The team arrived at 9:30am in the morning and worked well into the afternoon.

I had Spruce remove an old patio and replace it with a new one. They used some of the materials from the old patio in a different part of the garden. They also added a new area of patio. The Spruce Gardens team have been excellent from our first contact and discussions, to the completion of the first part of our garden development. This work involved the clearance of a greenhouse, a tree, dismantling a rockery and tidying up of all areas of a garden on a very steep slope, with difficult access.

After being left with a garden resembling the Somme by a previous contractor we engaged Spruce Garden Services to rip out what had already been done and then transform our garden and drive into our dream garden. The job took around 11 weeks and at various times we had between 1 and 11 guys on site. The outcome is just how we hoped it would be.

It wasn't a straightforward job but everything we asked for was accommodated. Not everything was done perfectly, what job ever is, but whenever it was not right, then it was fixed without a problem. That to me is the measure of a good company.

During the job, Sam and Willie made suggestions on how it could be improved, its the small details that make the difference between someone doing a job and someone who takes pride in their job. The Spruce Garden Services team take a pride in their job. We even got some advice on planting schemes, which were out of scope.

After the job, a Marshalls rep came to inspect their work showing that they are subject to independent oversight. I am pleased to say that Marshalls had no issues.

I am not an easy person to please but would have no hesitation in recommending Spruce Garden Services to anyone. There are too many names to mention here but our core team of Sam, Gregor and of course bossman Willie deserve a special mention. I have attached photos of the finished job.

Spruce removed tree roots and cleared a garden area. Staff checked I was satisfied at the end and were great with communication. Price was reasonable too. Firstly Craig came around to give me excellent advice on how to improve the state of my garden. Subsequently I have had a new garden post installed by the landscape team (sorry have forgotten names) and 2 separate visits from the gardening team, firstly to initially tidy up the garden, cut back shrubs and treat beds with herbicide (Euan and colleagues) and secondly to put down mulch (Matthew and colleague). All work was done as scheduled and to a very high standard and far exceeded my expectations. All the staff I spoke to were very courteous and very eager to please. All were a credit to the company.

I have already asked Craig to come back to discuss the next phase of the work, and what ongoing maintenance I would like.

I would 100% recommend Spruce.

Nathan and Liam came and repaired damage caused by a tree blown over in a recent storm. They removed a damaged oil tank and damaged items and restored the garden. They worked hard and efficiently and were pleasant and thoughtful a great service.

Spruce Gardening provided 2 fantastic gardeners (sorry didn't get their names) to do a 'tidy up' in my garden. They were professional, asked questions about what I wanted, then got to work and my goodness how they worked. They were on the property for around 6 hours and I dont think they stopped once. To let you know the scale of the job: my grass was so high it took them 4 goes to cut it, and they took away around 8 (or 9, or 10) huge bags filled with garden waste. I still cannot quite believe the difference they have made.
I would not say that Spruce were cheap, but the professionalism displayed, and hard work, politeness, from the gardeneners was superlative. You have to pay for quality, and that's what I got.

A skilful job done trimming and designing our large front hedge to make it both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Spruce understood our detailed requirements and executed them accurately. A first class job at a fair price.

Spruce Garden Services/Puzzled Monkey Landscaping repaired/rebuilt 18m of our wooden garden fence in March. The team carried out the work in atrocious conditions where it rained heavily every day. They did a great job and we are very pleased with the finished fence. The team were very helpful, polite and hard working. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

Tidy up of front and rear gardens. Thoroughly and efficiently carried out despite the very wet weather. Looks fantastic! Have used them in the past and will again in the future.

I had a total do-over of my small city garden by Spruce and could not be more delighted with the result. The guys were consummate professionals from initial consultation onwards; always checking in to see I was happy with detail and process. We have long dreamed of an outdoor space that is low maintenance but still high on greenery. We can't wait to spend more time in our urban oasis and can't thank the wonderful crew of designer, gardeners and landscapers enough.

I had the company out to pressure wash my front and back mono block. A lovely man called Robert arrived and he was an excellent worker, nothing was too much trouble for him, he moved all my garden pots and replaced them when he finished the pressure washing. I have used Spruce before to prune my lilac tree and they always give you excellent service.
The office staff are so friendly and helpful, a great company to use.

Spruce Garden Services came and gave our front and back gardens a really good tidy up...Craig came to see the garden first and give us a quote and made some great suggestions as to what could be done. Our garden was looking very overgrown and neglected and Micky and Flynn completely transformed everything making it look so lovely and tidy! They pruned various plants, weeded loads, cut back branches, re potted a plant, cleared all the leaves and moss and did an AMAZING job. Both Flynn and Micky worked so hard all morning, they were super friendly and very knowledgeable too. Our unkempt and untidy garden is looking so clear, tidy and loved again! They took away all the garden trimmings and gave everything a really good sweep at the end. Thank you so so much Flynn and Micky and all at Spruce Garden Services, we were so impressed by everything you did from the initial call from the office, to Craig coming to give us a quote, to Micky and Flynn doing the work and the friendly staff at the office that we spoke to too! Fab teamwork, great service and a super price too! We will definitely use you again and will certainly recommend you to our friends if they are looking for a fabbie gardening service! The work done was a winter tidy-up, the removal of a large tree and relocation of another one. The work was completed quickly in tricky conditions (the ground was VERY hard). Our instructions were carried out well, for the most part.

We required an end of year garden tidy up both at back and front of our house. This involved getting rid of remaining leaves, cutting back of plants and bushes, grass cutting and deck cleaning. We also had the paving stones, which form the path to our front door, reset. The men, who did the work, worked hard and conscientiously and we were very pleased with the end result. The job was completed in good time and they left no mess. I highly recommend them.

Team responded quickly to the initial response, and got a surveyor around quickly to assess what was needed to remove a whole bunch of brambles. Once the team was here to do the work, it was done quickly and efficiently. The ground clearing work done surpassed my expectations. Would highly recommend.

Had a new garden fence installed in back garden. Sam and the team did a great job. They were well organised polite and hard working. They had to come through the house to access the garden but took great care bringing supplies etc through and also took time to leave everything clean, neat and tidy when job finished. Would definitely recommend for their work and professionalism.

After spending months trying to find a gardener to take on our large communal garden I found an absolutely first class gardening service. We have them on a maintenance service and also they have just completed a winter clean up. The gardeners are all so friendly, polite, professional and listen to everything that you want. They do an excellent job and are punctual and clean up after them. The office staff are so lovely too, phoning to make sure we are happy with the work. Excellent company and would recommend to anyone.

We employed Spruce Garden Services for a general garden tidy up, which included giving our hedge a much needed prune pruned back all shrubs and roses also the wisteria and honeysuckle over the arbour etc etc. They removed all the green waste and dead leaves and left our garden clean and tidy.

The team not only arrived promptly as scheduled but also demonstrated a high level of professionalism throughout the entire process with their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction I will undoubtedly recommend them to friends and family.

This is the second occasion I've used Spruce Garden Services, this time to build new borders/steps, as well as laying a new path. I'm very pleased with the work.
The weather was horrendous for a few days (pouring rain!), however the guys remained resilient and continued working, and were professional, friendly and cheerful, as well as very hardworking.

Having struggled to find a local gardener willing to do a one off pre-Winter tidy up, I was delighted to find Spruce Garden Services to be willing to take this on. They displayed excellent customer service throughout, turned up on the day arranged and worked efficiently. All staff were very courteous and personable, listened carefully to what I wanted done and carried it out to the letter, tidying all mess up behind them. Administration was also very polite and efficient. I would definitely recommend them and hope to use them again myself.

I contacted Spruce for a quote to do an overall tidy, weed and garden clean up. They must be good as the day job took 6- 8 weeks to schedule but the date arrived soon enough.
The two gardeners who came to do the work were polite, enthusiastic and knew their stuff. Suggesting which plants and trees to keep, trim and remove.
I am more than pleased with the result and would not hesitate to recommend. Will definitely use again.

We have a large courtyard style driveway that is shared by 4 properties. It was in poor condition, pathing slabs were uneven, broken and dangerous to walk on.
The team at Puzzeled Monkey gave us a very competitive quote for the amount of work involved. This included digging out the whole area to a depth of 270mm, putting in good quality foundations, putting edgings around all flower beds and then block paving the entire area.
The whole job took 5 weeks from start to finish, the team were very hard working and nothing we asked was too much trouble. All 4 households are thrilled with the finish, we all agree that it is better than we expected. Our thanks to Craig, Willie, Alan and the team for all their hard work and an excellent finish.

I have used Spruce Gardens several times now and I'm always extremely happy with their work.
I have a small front and back garden with a rockery but it can become quite overgrown at times.
They make a super job of cutting back shrubs and doing general maintenance.
