I greatly appreciated a prompt response to a small roof leak. This was expertly evaluated and repaired. I have been very happy with several jobs done by GW&JS and they will definitely be my first call for any roof work. I discovered staining in my bedroom ceiling caused by a leak in my roof. I contacted GW & JS Construction, whom I have used several times before over the past decade, and was delighted that they were able to send someone round the following morning.
The next morning, at the time promised, Alan and a colleague arrived. I showed them the staining and they then set to work correcting the fault. On completion, they showed me photographs of the roof, before and after, explaining exactly what they had done. I’d also asked them to check the rest of the roof. They found several slates had slipped and secured them in place. Again, they showed me photographs of the work.
Approachable and competent, I have no qualms in recommending GW&JS Construction especially as trust in the company is so vital when it comes to roof repairs.

Repair of considerable wear and tear on our Edwardian stone built house built in 1905.
The company was very professional in its approach.
We were provided with numerous photographs of work needed and also again when work completed.
The team carrying out required repairs were excellent, on time, friendly and professional and anything that perhaps requiring extra work, in our case the
cupola was fully discussed before being undertaken.
We were also impressed by the trouble Jason took in keeping us fully up to date with progress and timing of when the team would arrive.

Following high winds and storm damage we checked the Trusted Trader website to garner possible roofers to carry out the repairs. Jason was quick to respond and took the time to run through possible solutions and to discuss time-frames for the work to be carried out. We felt comfortable with the approach he took on behalf of GW & JS Construction Ltd and the costings were broadly in line with other Trusted Trader Roofers we had approached. On this basis we went ahead. Alan and Frank turned up on the agreed date to commence the work. We were comfortable throughout that this felt that the job was being carried out in a professional manner. They kept the area tidy whilst they worked and we could see the amount of damage being repaired as the repairs progressed. As this was happening, Jason continued to keep us updated with any necessary information e.g. skip hire and work progress.
The work is now completed. Skip and scaffolding have been removed. We are delighted with the roofing repairs carried out and especially the manner by the whole team in how this was carried out. We would have no issue recommending. Once again Trusted Trader has come up trunps and appreciate the time individuals take leaving their recommendations and feedback on this website. We certainly benefited.

After a winter storm we had a leaking roof, but were also aware of a broken down pipe, and damp. Jason was quick to investigate and also discovered areas of broken harling , and a blocked drain beneath the down pipe and misaligned rones . We had a formal quote within a day, and a high level timeframe for completion. This was exceeded due to Jason’s planning and his team ultimately arrived within a few weeks and completed within 2 days and the work has been proven to be excellent and successful.

Had an issue with a leak for a long time with no resolution from other roofing firms. Got in touch with this firm who actually answer the phone and your emails. They come out when arranged unlike many others who let you down and don't return calls/emails. This firm have been brilliant and sorted the issue. Work has been undertaken in a professional manner keeping you up to do with every step. Everything cleaned up afterwards. Price was fair and they are they're aren't going to rip you off. Don't waste your time ringing around various roofers for quotes. Just get in touch with these guys and you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend.

Jason was friendly, professional, and quick to respond to a problem of water ingress through our roof of our 1930s bungalow. As part of the survey visit he cleared debris that was clogging both the gulleys and gutters on our roof, without any charge. He was friendly, courteous and explained everything he was doing. I would not hesitate to use Jason and GW & JS again in future, and would wholeheartedly recommend his services.

We had been advised that our roof needed attention from the aerial engineer, so we called GW&JS construction Ltd. Who responded quickly assessed the work required and provided a comprehensive quote. The roofers came and carried out the work, they were great, polite and worked away until the job was completed, we were then shown detailed photos of the work that they carried out .Happy to recommend, as they were recommended to us. Jason assessed an initial roof problem I had - he was honest to say that removing moss and cleaning the roof would solve the problem. He didn't charge for coming round and making that assessment, which I appreciated and I was impressed with.
When we had another problem with the roof, I remembered this gesture so I called Jason and the work his team did was excellent.
Alan and Frank did an excellent job replacing broken tiles and patching up the roof ridges. They were efficient, professional and very good to deal with. I'd definitely recommend GW&JS.

We had work done on our roof to repair a zinc gully and replace loose and broken slates. Jason showed us photos of what needed done beforehand and Alan kept us well informed as the work progressed. We have a full set of photos of the work done. We were very impressed by the prompt replies to all our emails and by the professional standards of everyone involved. Recent galeforce winds led to an emergency situation for me. Part of a skylight had ended up lying in a flower bed in my back garden, and the rain was getting in to my loft. When I contacted Jason (having had work done by him a few years ago), he came the next day, put a temporary cover over the hole, and advised that all I needed was to order new glass to be set into the original cast-iron skylight frame. As previously, Jason was very courteous and helpful, and this time, he even refused payment for his visit. The result: he has set my mind at rest, and given me the pleasant experience of dealing with a charming and really kind person. He remains top of my list for any future work.

We needed roof slates to be replaced, and a gutter re-aligned. After I left a message, Jason called me back the same day, and visited the next. He sent on the quote on the day of the visit. Alan and Frank completed the work over two visits (afternoon, and first thing in the morning), and left the area very tidy.

This is my second time using GW & JS Construction Ltd for a roofing issue. Had a leak with an old conservatory roof right at the join of the house roof that was only going to get worse. Contacted Jason who had dealt with a roof issue in a previous property from a few years back and it was nice that he remembered me. We discussed the issue and he came round prepared with all the relevant tools. Jason was able to mend the potential issue the same day. He showed me the damage and repair with before and after photos and explained what was repaired and realistic expectancy of the repair. We discussed potential options with the existing old creaky roof which will really help with long term decisions.
I am absolutely delighted that there was no fuss, no mess and that I was able to use Jason’s services again as I was so impressed with the professionalism the first time. Complete piece of mind.

My flat roof extension had started to leak so it was stripped back, insulation added and re-felted. There was some rotten wood underneath so that was all replaced as well.
Experience was very straightforward from timely quote to doing the work. I was kept informed throughout.
Guy and Wayne waited until there was a dry day to open up the roof which avoided any issues with rain coming inside. All mess was tidied up and roof looks great.

I'm very happy to recommend Jason and his team. They quickly identified faults with the chimney stack and rear guttering, both were leaking badly.Through photographs I could see exactly what needed done, this was discussed clearly with me and backed up by detailed estimated e mails.
The work was carried out as soon as possible. At all times my e mail was answered promptly. I never had to worry about anything.

Absolutely delighted with the installation of a porch roof light to replace the faulty, leaking roof light installed by cowboy roofers last year. We had multiple leaks coming through a newly purchased property, Jason was quick to come back to us, and promptly visited the property. After investigating various parts of the roof, Jason identified the issues, with pictures he took whilst on the roof and reported back with a plan of action. We had our lead flashing fixed around the dormer areas of our property and chimneys re-harled. Both Allan and Frank worked their socks off to complete the works, they communicated throughout on what had been done, Jason regularly visited site and kept us up to date on progress throughout. Everyone was friendly, professional and easy to deal with. The property was always left tidy upon finishing as well. We noticed a very small leak coming in a trap door and we rang the guys who got back to us straight away and came out to us within a couple of days. Jason responded and came swiftly to fix a leak in our garage roof. He happily resealed open joints in the existing covering (rather than suggesting an expensive replacement like others had done). After a few months a small leak reappeared and, again, Jason responded quickly, this time fixing it there and then the day after I emailed him! The icing on the cake was being told there was no charge because all their work is guaranteed for a year! Excellent service, thank you!

Remedial corrective work carried out following poor workmanship of neighbour's recent full roof re-state by their very diabolically unskilled roofers which had badly impacted my roof at the adjoining part of the roof (semi-detached property) on both the front and rear of my property, in addition to around the chimney apron lead work.

Guy came to inspect roof at my property and quoted £250 + vat which I accepted in writing. No date was given for the work as advised not urgent and Company would contact me in due course.
Last Tuesday evening I received a surprise email advising two workers had come to my home and completed repairing/replacing slates on roof. They charged a further £150.00 + vat stating there was more work required, but no details on the invoice. Neither my wife or myself were at home so they proceeded to enter my property and carry out work without permission.
I have now managed to agree a compromise with Jason that the additional charge would be reduced to £75 + vat bringing total due £390.
I would not deal with this Company again.

The team arrived on site as planned on the first day and set about their work diligently namely taking down two chimneys and retiling the voids all of which was completed a day ahead of schedule. Quick to come out and quote for work. Turned up on time. The workmen on site were always very polite and easy to deal with. Very neat and tidy, site was cleared up every evening over the 8 days. Had dry ridge and verge system fitted with old tiles and mortar picked out and removed, house looks far neater and better for it. Sub contractors turned up the day after roof work complete to remove scaffold and skip. Overall very impressed and would recommend.

They demolished redundant chimney, repaired leaking roof and cleaned and repaired gutters and drain pipes.
There were some problems, which can be expected with a job of this size. They returned twice to complete remedial work and quickly dealt with all problems, without any hassle. I am very happy with the end result and they were easy and straight forward to deal with.

Following water ingress to the house, Jason & Guy undertook roof repairs which included slate replacement and moss/algae removal on the main roof, along with the complete replacement of a flat roof on the porch. The porch task also involved heightening the porch roof, to allow rainwater to more efficiently drain into existing guttering. The result is fantastic, with the entire porch looking brand new! All aspects of the work were undertaken professionally and with respect to the existing property/garden area. Jason & Guy were punctual and, importantly, reliable. They are a credit to their profession and I have no hesitation in recommending them for roof repairs. I would certainly contact them again in the future.

We had a potentially damaging water leak from a skylight in the attic. We were provided with a pair of quotes to remedy the issue. One a straightforward repair and a second for a repair and replacement Velux window. We chose the latter. The work was carried out smoothly and efficiently with no disruption to daily routine. During the work several additional tiles were identified as damaged. We agreed to their replacement at additional cost. When the final invoice arrived this cost was minimal.
We were advised at every stage of the works and all workmen (including the scaffolders) left the area clean and tidy on completion.

Repair to chimney and new gutters. Quote given very reasonable. My aerial looked very shaky and they recommended an aerialist look at it. I made the call and aerialist arrived and on inspection he could see it was completely broken - been up for more than 40 years - and showed me faulty wiring and mast stand hanging by a thread so new one replaced.
New gutters painted inside and out. Chimney pot very loose and whilst repairing it the guys also noticed 2nd chimney not so good so repaired that also at no extra cost. Guys were very friendly and work went very smoothly.

This is the second job I have used this company for as I was so impressed the first time. The service and their communication is second to none and the workmanship cannot be faulted. Really nice guys too. We have just had our rhones, downpipes and facings prepared and painted. I asked GWJS to check our roof for possible leak and to give me a quote. Jason came early in the morning and did his inspection. He found out that the window on our attic needs sealant applied. So he went back to his van and got his tools and ladder. He resealed the sides of the window and did not charge me for it eventhough I insisted to pay. I noticed some watermarks on my ceiling so called GWJS to come inspect my roof and to provide a quotation. Jason arrived on time and after his inspection he noted some minor crack on the chimney which is where he thinks the water is getting into the roof. He applied a sealant to the crack and didn't charge me for it. He also helped me sort out a slipped tile while he was up on the roof. Jason was very friendly and polite. I contacted them back in Feb 2016 and they did a great job of sorting my leaking roof. All of the team were very polite and competent. They certainly know what they are doing. I had a small blockage in the pipe which caused the water to soak the kitchen carpet during the night and I called Jason who came down and within seconds discovered the pipe was partly blocked and did the job there and then. If you need somebody--CALL JASON. You can have every faith in them.

I have had Jason attend to several roofing issues in two different houses over the past 5 years and always found the service provided to be prompt, courteous, efficient and good value for money. I recently contacted the firm about a small niggling problem on the very day Jason was off on holiday, but was pleased to wait till he returned, phoned me back and attended to the issue at the first opportunity. The standard of workmanship and the expert knowledge of the roofing trade which he displays makes me confident that the matter is being resolved in the best way. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Requested a quote for a check up of our roof after a few slates became loose and the surrounds looked aged. We had concerns due to the building being listed and 200 years old, Jason provided a full detailed quote including pictures of work required which was provided within days. I requested a quotation for replacing my garage roof from several companies but Guy and Jason were the only ones to respond. I got my quote next day, they came when they said they would, did a perfect job, were brilliant at keeping me in touch, coped with the unexpected without any fuss, and tidied up afterwards. A missing piece of guttering was fitted two days later with the same polite good humour which characterised the whole process. I'm scoring them 100% and recommend them unreservedly.

Jason has done work for me before so I had no hesitation in contacting him when water marks started appearing on my en suite ceiling. On investigation he found the the problem was the extractor tubing which had come away from the outlet and was filling with water. Jason reattached the tubing and secured it to a rafter to avoid a repetition of the problem. He then refused to charge me for the work.

I phoned GW&JS Roofing after discovering some issues with my pantile roof. Jason from GW&JS came round quickly and went over the roof thoroughly. He took numerous photos and showed me the areas that required fixing - mainly cracked roof tiles. I decided to go ahead after receiving a very reasonable quote. Within days Jason was back round and all my roof tiles were fixed/replaced. Again, photos were provided (something I consider to be very important given I can't normally validate this sort of work myself). I highly recommend Jason and GW&JS. The quoted price was extremely good and very reasonable. The standard of work is second to none - the pre and post job photos were hugely helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to use Jason again.

A few months back I used this firm to replace and repair some cast iron rhones. They also replaced some timber fascia and added UPVC cladding on the gable end of my house.
Right from the start I felt at ease with Guy and Jason and was given confidence to use them after looking at the reviews on here.
The work was completed on budget and on time but there were a couple of residual leaks the next time it rained.
They sent out an extremely professional tradesman to remedy the issue. Rather than do a quick fix he found the root cause and fixed it. Not only that but he took photos to show me his work.
Although I was initially disappointed that the work had issues (turns out this was due to a now ex-employee) the fact that it was fixed to such a high standard allows me to highly recommend this company. And keep in mind that 90% of the original work was perfectly fine.
They are easy to deal with, commercially competitive and to work to a high standard.

GW & JS Construction came round very quickly in response to my request for a quote. He carried out a detailed survey of my house and showed me photos of areas which needed work.
He supplied a quote the next day and did not pressure me in any way to proceed with this. We obtained quotes from two other firms for the same work which were 50% and 90% more expensive!
There work has been completed and it looks to be of a very high standard.

GW & JS Construction carried out some work to overhaul a large area of flat roof on my property. Extra care was needed to maintain the existing insulation and the job was perhaps a bit more tricky than expected for this reason. Despite the job taking slightly longer as a result, it was completed within a reasonable timescale. Overall I was very happy with the quality of workmanship and, in particular, the customer service I received from Jason and Guy who were extremely helpful and kept me fully informed of progress throughout. I would certainly use their services again in the future.

I highly recommend Jason from GWJS Roofing. He came out to look at some dodgy rhone pipes that were leaking and, instead of just having a look and coming back later, he got down and dirty and fixed everything for me on the spot. Jason is a complete gentleman and even put up with my toddler asking him endless questions! He was completely honest and extremely helpful. I wish all tradespeople were as easy and friendly! We contacted Jason following a recommendation and asked him to clean our gutters and paint our fascia. Jason came round himself the next day to assess the job and appeared very professional. He promptly supplied a detailed and clear written quote by email. A week or so later two of his workers came to do the job. They were also polite, friendly and professional and the work was completed quickly and neatly. We then received an invoice and were able to pay conveniently online. Nice to deal with such an efficient and reliable firm - we would use them again in the future.

We have employed GW&JS Construction on a number of occasion. They are always reliable. I know I can rely on them to provide a good service at a good price. Equally important they only do what needs to be done.
Amongst other things they regularly undertake the inspection of the flat roof on our block of flats. Over a number of years they have reported the condition without recommending any work is required.
I have no hesitation in recommending them.

My first contact with the company was with Jason (director of company) who came to survey my property and I found him to be very professional helpful and friendly.
When Guy ( also director of the company) arrived to carry out the work along with the other guys. They arrived when they stated they would, work started immediately. They were professional, tidy workers clearing up after work finished. I found them all to be very friendly and helpful and would not hesitate to recommend this company to friends and family.

Five stars for Jason from GW&JS construction. He arrived -early!- and quickly sorted a leaking skylight problem. He was polite, practical and explained what he was doing. He was also very tidy. I totally recommend him!

We had our garage roof replaced in August, Jason was very quick to contact us, provide a quote and arrange a date for the work. It was undertaken to a high standard and finish. Where issues emerged the workmen were quick to rectify them. Following completion of the work the drainage leaked slightly - this section couldn't have been tested at the time and when we contacted Jason it was fixed quickly and without question. Overall we were very pleased and would definitely use again.

I used GW & JS Construction Ltd to carry out rhone replacement and roofing work. They were superb to deal with and would recommend them 100%. They are a friendly yet professional organisation, who carried out the work required to a incredibly high standard. 5 stars for everything - a great company to deal with.
