I recently had some work carried out by John Evans for roughcasting work on my house, and I couldn't be more impressed with the results. From start to finish, John exhibited the utmost professionalism and dedication.

Their workmanship was second to none. We were on holiday for part of the time that the work was being carried out and John telephoned us every day to let us know the progress of the work. Not only did they do a first class job but they were extremely tidy workers.

John Evans did an excellent job of replacing the fascia boards and soffits as well as renewing the rough cast. We were kept informed at every stage of the job and on completion everything was tidied up and washed down. I highly recommend John!

Could not be more happier with the work John and his son did. From the moment they arrived they were really friendly, nothing was a bother they went out of there way to do everything, any time I queried anything I got a answer that I understood. John was very careful to listen to my specific needs and priorities for the job. He was very up front about waiting time until he was able to start. He also gave updates on start time as appropriate.
John gave notice of work commencement and met the timescale he had given. When work started he confirmed the work required and price. The work was completed in good time and to an excellent standard. John and his son cleared and tidied the site every evening before leaving and kept me informed about progress without me having to ask. On completion John made sure I was 100% satisfied with the work and finish. Altogether a very satisfactory job. Can't praise him enough. Would recommend him to anyone.

We needed roughcast redone on our property.John visited and explained what would be needed to do the job and the process. He gave us options for colour of render and stones and took time to make sure we were happy with our choice.
The work was carried out as agreed by John and his son to a very high standard and with as little inconvenience to us as possible. They kept us up to date with the progress day to day and cleared up as they went with one of our neighbours commenting that they were the tidiest workmen she had even seen.
We are very happy with the completed job , it has made a huge difference to the look of our property and has attracted many complements .We would not hesitate to highly recommend them.

John and his son gave us the best quote for work to re roughcast our house and garage. They kept in touch as to when they would be starting the work. During the work they cleaned up every day and left the work areas really clean and tidy. The quality of his work is excellent and we are really pleased with the results, they even painted our concrete window sills to match in which really finished the work off. would definitely recommend them to others.

I asked John to replace the roughcast, gutter, fascia and soffit on my mothers house in Renfrew. John arrived when he said he would, provided an excellent estimate and dropped off a sample box for my mother to choose stone colours, render textures etc. We set a date for him to start (he appears to be in high demand). John arrived on schedule, worked every day for a week and made an excellent job. My mother is delighted with the outcome. He cleaned up every night an left the garden and the neighbours gardens spotless. In addition I asked him to do some extra work which he did and I'm pretty sure he undercharged me for.

Delighted with the job John and young John did for us. They’re both lovely people who offer advice while always being friendly and well mannered. Our garden area was kept exceptionally tidy throughout the work being done and their tidying up and washing of windows and doors when the job was completed was thorough. The rough casting work has been completed to a high standard and we would recommend John Evans and son to anybody who asked. Several neighbours actually stopped to comment on the good job they were doing while others have asked for quotes based on the work they saw at our house.

John completed a roughcasting job for on the gable end of my house as well as a few other patch jobs around the house.
John is a friendly and approachable guy. He kept me informed of when he would be out to do the job and what he was doing at each stage. The job was finished in about 2 weeks.
His prices I thought were very reasonable and he came in cheaper than 3 other rough casters I had price the job.
I really appreciated his eye for detail: he went out of his way to find a bit of matching trim to complete the rough casting around a window. I also appreciated how tidy he was once the job was complete.
The wall looks great and the neighbours have commented on how good it looks as well as how hard John and his son worked and appreciated how quiet they were.

John recently roughcasted a garden wall, from start to finish service was first class. Clean and tidy worker.

The work done was a fairly small job, clearing and then roughcasting an area around our back steps. John was very attentive to the "admin" side of the job, answering messages and phone calls promptly, sending in his quotation quickly and turning up on site when promised. He and his assistant were polite and friendly on the job and cleared up well once finished.
I'm not technical, so I can't give a professional opinion on his work (hence only the score of 4 for quality) but it certainly looks like a good job done. I would certainly recommend him to future customers.

John and his son recently completed a full roughcasting job on my house. The previous wet cast coating was in terrible condition and completely boss in areas. John removed all wet cast and chipping paint prior to applying the new rough cast.
From the initial site visit for a quote, to completion of works, John was very professional and kept us updated regarding a start date and progress throughout the job. They swept up and tidied all materials and tools away after every shift.
John has a meticulous attention to detail and will not leave anything that he is not 100% happy with.
My house is now completely transformed aesthetically and I know it is now solid and weatherproofed.
I would not hesitate to use John for future works and I have already passed his number on to multiple friends looking to get their rough casting done.

Always turned up on time and when they said they would. They tidied up at the end of each day. Helpful advice on what to do. Done a few extra jobs that we requested while they were working.

What can I say?
I was looking to have my entire house rough casted with a few problem areas repaired. John came out and showed me work he had completed which provided me with the idea to also have a canopy with lights installed over the front door. John provided a very reasonable quote that I was happy to go ahead with.

When the job started, he and his son got stuck in and kept me updated with everything, even if he was running 5/10 mins late in the morning, he texted to let me know.

Needless to say, once they started, I decided I wanted further work done: replacement gutters and down pipes throughout, facia boards painted, windowsills and door surrounds painted. John also replaced 3 external lights and an outdoor socket.
John put a few improvement suggestions to me (absolutely no pressure to take these up but definite improvements to my home). This included having lead put into the building at my extension to prevent water leakage as this had been originally been paper-like and was visibly detaching from the building.

Despite winter weather throwing everything at them, they came out every day and found something to do. If the roughcasting wasn’t an option, they did something else to keep the job moving and cleaned up every day without fail.

John has now agreed to tile my front steps to finish the appearance which is fantastic. He has been so accepting of me constantly adding to the job and even with the additions, the total cost was very reasonable.

I can’t praise John and his son enough for the fantastic job they did. My house has been totally transformed.

I needed a small wall at the side of the house done and John came out quickly and gave me a quote which was acceptable. He advised that he was very busy and it would be a few weeks before he could do the work. That was fine and he kept in touch keeping me updated on when he would start. He started on the day he promised quickly preparing the area to be rough cast. Bad weather delayed finishing but again John kept me advised and finished the job as soon as weather permitted. Very pleased with the finish and the way everything was left clean and tidy on completion. I am already looking to have some further work done but will wait until spring and better weather. Would have no hesitation in recommending John.

John recently roughcasted our complete house and resolved a lot of problem areas. First class job done in an expedient and helpful manner. John and his team were always punctual and patient as we tried to pick the right stone. Roughcasting John was reliable always on time easy to approach. The two young men that work with him are polite and get stuck in working from when they arrive to they leave. Job was really tidy/clean would recommend him to everyone.

We had John out to basically plaster our full house and after roughcast a back wall outside.
What a great guy! Came on time and when he said he would, always communicating with us and offering us great advice on how best to paint the walls or if he was worried about certain parts of the house would explain exactly what he was going to do. His plastering work is 2nd to none, his walls are like silk!
Friendly, down to earth worker who kept the whole place clean and tidy as he went, John definitely takes great pride in his work and could not recommend him enough.
