We have developed a rat problem in recent weeks, and Active pest were very quick to come and help us out. Their guy was very efficient at spotting points on ingress outside the house that I had missed, and he managed to squeeze into out two attics to set traps and lay bait, which is not an easy job. We blocked up the hole outside, and a number of rats were caught inside which was a good result. The man came (Derek I think) came back several times to check the situation after the original traps had been laid. Overall an excellent service.

Noticed wasps entering and exiting in a gap under my garage roof tiles and realised it was the start of a nest. I decided to call out a pest control expert and I found Active Pest Control Solutions using Google. I gave them a call on Sunday and spoke to Derek and he said he would come out the next day and have a look. True to his word he arrived the next day and on examining the garage roof confirmed it was a nest. He then said he would do the job while he was here. He sprayed the area with an insecticide powder several times. This did the trick as the wasps never returned. Derek also said if he had to be called out for the same job again there would be no charge. He was a very pleasant and polite person and I would definitely use his services again.

I have had a large wasps nest eradicated. Derek was working on one next door and was very obliging when asked if he could also remove mine which he did. Extremely satisfied with his work and would not hesitate in using him again and recommending him to others.

I needed to get rid of a wasp nest in the loft of my house with an access hole in the facia just above a window and with an electric cable through, from an external security light. I contacted Active Pest Solutions on Tuesday 24th August and arranged a visit for Wednesday 25th. The technician was punctual and completed the process of eliminating the nest and wasps within about 20 minutes. He also promised to return if there was any more wasp activity within 3 days as part of the contract. Very pleased with the work and we would use again.

A very good and friendly service, giving good advice and information about pest control. Several visits were needed to resolve the problem so dedication was shown to the matter, with additional phone calls to regularly check the situation. All in all a very good service and we would use them again if the pests return!

Called late morning and Derek came out the same afternoon. Assessed the problem, left traps. Called me to check if anything had been caught, before I'd had chance to call him. We had field-mice coming into the kitchen through the dishwasher waste pipe inlet, and they were chewing up the hose.
Mr Goodwin set instant-kill traps and showed us where to cover the ventilation grills with mouse-mesh. He also advised us to move the squirrel feeder away from the back wall to discourage the mice.
A week later there was no sign of them.

Derek was very good. He gave me very good advice and made me feel everything was ok. I thought I had a wasps nest but it was bees. You are not supposed to destroy these so he made me feel confident that it was ok.

Derek Goodwin responded to my call immediately and couldn't have be more helpful in helping us deal with a swarm of honey bees that wanted to take up residence in our loft. He initially contacted a local beekeeper to see if she could take them away who also arrived at our house within half an hour of Derek's call. As it turned out the bees decided to move out of their own volition but Derek noticed evidence of a rat in our loft which he treated.
