We had a wall removed between our kitchen and living room, new downstairs flooring put in, a shower installed over our bath and additional cupboards installed in our utility room. We had great communication about when everything was happening and everyone showed up when expected which was really helpful. TT accommodated us having to cancel a previous start date due to us having covid. They worked really efficiently and the quality of the work is really high. They also did their best to be respectful of keeping things tidy (a certain amount of noise and dust is to be expected!) and were generally friendly and easy to work with.

We have used TT for multiple jobs around the house from fitting bathrooms, windows and doors, building work, joinery, electrics and roofing. At all times their tradesmen have been reliable and very easy to deal with. Their quality of work is very good and when the next batch of house improvements need done it will be TT that we contact.

This was a loft extension to a top floor flat in a Victorian/Edwardian Edinburgh building. TT construction worked with our architect/project manager to deliver a really excellent result. As well as the extension they installed a new kitchen and bathroom in the existing flat, did a good redecorating job on the whole flat. They negotiated with others to install an iMist fire safety appliance. The flat was nearly completely rewired and re--plumbed. The work was completed a little after the scheduled time but Covid and sourcing materials were contributing issues. There are still a few outstanding minor issues to get full building reg. approval. I have no concerns about these, which I am sure will be sorted out soon. At all times communication with TT was excellent and they were very reliable at doing what they said they would.
There were extra expenses for the unanticipated, but these were reasonable and negotiable.
I have no hesitation in recommending this company to others for similar work.

Refurbishment of an existing small room to convert into a wine room. This required stripping back existing lath and plaster to the stonework, installation of insulation, vapour barrier and plasterboard as well as plaster and joinery work to enable installation of prefabricated wine racks.
Work was impacted by finding of wasps' nests but despite the interruption to the planned schedule, the work was completed with minimal delay. The quality of work by an experienced work force was very good and well coordinated.

I would like to renovate a house as previous owner has stayed for almost 40 years. The project includes structural change, new kitchen, new bathrooms, new boiler/heating/replumbing, decoration and back garden. (I appoint seperate electrician to rewire - will never do it again!)
I am glad to find TT Construction do help my project - my architect recommands them to me.
Gary, Denise and the whole team delivered high standard service from communication to every work including cleaning. Gary always says that he treats clients' property as his own - I believe it because Gary and his team did it.
The quote is down to detail, so never hidden costs. Gary explains everything if I have questions or there is any unexpected issues. He also provides options depending on budget level and let me know the pros & cons.
They charge for fair price and it's definately worth it.
As a whole, I am very satisfed and will definately seek their help if I need another renovation. (Plus, all my visiters like my new home!)

TT Construction managed entire project involving building work, drains, plumbing, roofing, electrical work and decoration.
They were excellent. The team were very professional, highly skilled, knowledgeable and worked hard, and everything was done to a very high standard and compliant with regulations. They went the extra mile to ensure that everything was done as I wanted it. They were very good about sorting the few issues that inevitably arose with a project of this size, and very responsive. They kept me very well informed. They kept the work area clean and tidy, and took great care to avoid damage to my property and garden.
I would not hesitate to use them again, and would recommend them to others.

Major roof repair, joinery and masonry work needed. TT's team is great, from being easy to deal with and doing what they say they will when they say they will, through the problem solving to the quality of work at the end. They've been our go-to builder for over a decade.

Two bathrooms refitted, a modest extension, kitchen moved and refitted, new doors, as well as major structural repairs resulting from old changes to the property.
The straightforward work - the bathrooms, extension and kitchen work, including necessary plumbing and electrical work - were all done to time, efficiently and to a very high standard. Where there were supply delays, e.g. for custom-made doors, we were kept informed. The workmen were all excellent and very considerate. We particularly appreciated having a temporary kitchen installed for our use whilst the work was done. Rubbish was removed and the house left clean and painted.
The structural repairs were unexpected and, to us, serious, However, The builder was reassuring and very competent in dealing with the problems, which required installing a major support beam in one room and strengthening the gable wall. The proprietor was very good at coming to discuss all the work with us.

TT first helped me with the complete refurbishment of my flat after the previous dodgy contractor I appointed caused significant damage. Since then, my home has been flooded twice and required fitting out again (I have the worst luck!). TT have bent over backwards to help me out and get things sorted as quickly as possible. I cannot recommend TT highly enough - they are professional, trustworthy, thorough and reliable. Everything is finished to an exceptionally high standard. They are not the cheapest but I firmly believe you get what you pay for. I will always use TT for any work I need done in future and will not waste my time with contractors who appear cheaper but do not do a good job, which ends up costing a lot more money in the long run.

Renovation of 2 listed bedroom flat in New Town with structural work to open up kitchen. Reliable and helpful approach, sorted issues as the arose and excellent quality.

We had an extension done to the house - and old conservatory removed and a modern larch clad light extension added.

TT Construction were excellent throughout the work. Their initial quote was not the cheapest but was the most convincing. They clearly knew what they were talking about and were very transparent on all material and labour costs. Gary Thomson, who led the work, was very experienced and knowledgeable. He was able to provide sensible advice and guidance throughout and was very responsive to questions and requests. He worked well with our architect. The builders on site were friendly, considerate and helpful, and were clearly very good at their work. With a large investment by us in the job it was very reassuring to have such a competent and experienced contractor. I am pleased to say that I can recommend TT Construction without reservation. We are delighted with the end result and I would not hesitate to use them again.

The work involved demolition of an existing utility room at the rear of our property, and building a new damp proof extended utility room. As there is no access via the back garden, all building materials had to be carried manually through our ground floor flat. The builders took great care not to damage floors and other surfaces which had been covered with protective sheets before the work started. All tradesmen involved in this project (builders, joiners, electricians, roofers etc.) turned up at times they were expected. We are very pleased with the new utility room which fully meets our expectations and which has been constructed to a very high standard. Via our chosen contract administrator (architect) we communicated with the contractor on a regular basis, and any issues that inevitably had arisen were dealt with quickly and satisfactory. This contractor had been recommended by the architect, and we have no regrets having followed his advice.

Kitchen replacement and removal of fireplaces. Good communication, prompt service, tidy workmen.

TT Construction built our extension on our house and new driveway. They were fantastic, professional, great quality work, incredibly helpful and I would highly recommend them. They really went above and beyond and made a really big job stress-free. Thanks so much to Gary and his amazing team!

Internal work:- Removal of existing wall to create open-plan sitting room/kitchen area.
Removal of patio doors and replace with new glazed 4 panel unit, incorporating double doors.
New laminate flooring throughout ground floor.
Remove existing staircase bannister and replace with new glazed panel.
Woodwork, ceilings and walls painted.

External work:- Remove existing stone steps and patio area and replace with two levels of wooden decking and railing.

On the whole, a reliable and competant company, both from the administration and manual work aspects, obviously an experienced team of people.

TT Construction undertook the rewiring and redecoration of my home, and the installation of a new kitchen, plus related joinery works, in Autumn 2018.

I was impressed by Gary's approach from the outset, as he ensured that he and his subcontractors visited the property together, so that everyone understood what was required. Gary's advice was good and he was always able to come up with practical solutions.

When issues arose, as is inevitable with an old and altered property, they were quickly resolved. All Gary's tradesmen and subcontractors were highly professional and responsive to my requests.

The only unsatisfactory aspect of the experience was the very poor customer service provided by Howdens' Prestonfield depot in the design and provision of my new kitchen. But even here I felt that TT Construction was on my side in securing the kitchen I wanted.

My overall impression of TT Construction is that we were working as a team to get the best result for my home within my budget.

In November 2018, TT fully renovated our bathroom and kitchen and installed new radiators in our tenement flat. From the start they were punctual, friendly, professional and great to deal with. The staff on site and in the office were helpful, experienced and very considerate. We had to work to a tight time schedule and TT went the extra mile to get the job done. We are extremely pleased with the finish and would work with them again.

With a career as a project manager and a high attention to detail I am only to well aware of the difficulties of bringing a project in on-time, on-budget and on-quality whilst managing risk. From the outset TT Construction stood head and shoulders above the 4 other companies I contacted to quote for the complete renovation of a top floor flat in Newtown. As part of the selection process TTC promptly met with me on site, provided two telephone references for projects of a similar size, copies of certification for recognised bodies such as The Federation of Master Builders, copies of public and employers & works liability insurance, confirmation of working to the Scottish minor works contract, provision of a very detailed schedule of works and an itemised costing, confirmation of a provisional start and a total number of weeks for completion, and finally recommendations for material suppliers (full kitchen and bathroom strip out a refit). All this before being awarded the final contract.

Needless to say Gary Thompson (MD) and Denise Casey (Project Coordinator) provided a single point of contact for the clear management of the project from its inception to its completion. At no time did I feel the project was at risk on not delivering on my expectations. They communicated ahead of time when key decisions needed to be made, offered advice as to the fitting out of a very small bathroom which is now a place of relaxation and ensured a very high level of finish from all trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tiling, kitchen and bathroom fitting) - before handing over to Bruce Clark to complete the redecoration of the entire flat. The result was truly extraordinary and I would not hesitate to recommend TTC to others carrying out a similar project. A true find in the construction industry!

TT Construction held the appropriate insurance policies, used the appropriate SBC contract forms and handled well all the interfaces with the City Council. Gary Thomson, via Denise Casey, provided the one-point contact so essential in the construction process. The mix of trades and skills were supplied by both TT staff and their subcontractors. The established close working relationships between TT and their subcontractors resulted in effective phasing of the works. Delays we're incurred in the supply chains with regard to the sanitary white goods and the tiling. Otherwise the works would have been completed on time.

Not the cheapest tender but the firm provided a detailed transparent breakdown of the tender price.
The firm gave good advice on how the work should be carried out which saved money. They also provided helpful advice on the selection of fixtures, fittings, flooring, tiles etc.
All tradesmen employed on the job were very good.
The contract was well run and was completed on time.

TT provides an excellent service, all the tradesmen are friendly, skilful and dependable, Gary, the owner, ensures quality control and everyone is approachable. We are delighted with completed work and would certainly recommend TT.
