The 14 outside windows of our flat were repainted. Trader very conscientious and friendly as well being a good communicator. The work was very well done. It involved scraping and filling where necessary, a primer, an undercoat, and two coats of Sandtex satin. It looks superb and one has the impression it will well resist everything the inclement weather can throw at it. Overall definitely worth the £900.

I had asked they do the hallway, stairs, upper landing (which included painting some fresh plasterwork) and ceilings. In addition the facings and skirting were to be glossed too. Very happy with the level of professionalism and detail of work. Very friendly, helpful and efficient. They carried out a quote shortly after Initial contact and once approved were out to do the job within a week later.

Neil employs truly professional craftsmen who know how to give a first-class finish to the paintwork, and who work very well together. Neil’s team was sub-contracted to paint the entire exterior of our large B-listed house in South Edinburgh while the house was scaffolded for stonework and harling repairs. The Neil Maclean team painted all the masonry walls, 49 windows, entrance doors and gates. The professionalism showed in the team’s painstaking repair, filling and preparation of the glazing putty and the timberwork, which always ensured a fine finish. I am very pleased with the results. Neil and his team did our hall, stair, landing and lounge.
The work was carried out while we were on holiday. We came home on a dark wet and miserable evening to find the the light on in the hall to welcome us home and the house near perfect, with the work beautifully done and the furniture back in place. Really could not have been better. We are having our kitchen/dining room done next.

Neil and his team painted two dormer windows and surrounds, three very tall drawing room windows and a very substantial, intricate Victorian balcony. The work was carried out to our satisfaction. Neil's customer focus and attention to detail were outstanding. This was not an easy job as it involved working around other tradesmen but Neil was very patient and supportive of us when unforeseen problems arose (not of his making). We would certainly use his firm again.

2 bedrooms and family room/kitchen painted.
Neil and his team were very efficient, tidy and friendly. Nothing was a problem even when I changed a colour very last minute. I would recommend without hesitation and intend using them again in January 2022 for another bedroom.

Neil and his team painted the inside of our house, including rooms with vaulted ceilings. They did an excellent job to a high standard, with very good attention to detail. Neil and his team were cheery, friendly, easy to get on with, and worked around us with patience. Worth every penny.

Exterior upstairs windows and facia boards. First class job, did more than originally agreed just to make sure it was a good job without asking. Very quick worker, tidy and clean. Altogether a first class job and more than happy to recommend to anyone.

External house painting completed yesterday. Neil had to work around the weather but kept in touch with me so that I knew when he and his team would be working at the house. It's a tidy job and when it turned out that there was a bit more to do than originally quoted this was discussed with me and the agreed additional cost was small. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Neil or to ask him to do further work for me in future.

I have just had the bedroom of my ground floor tenement painted by Neil and would be happy to use him again. He was prompt at replying to emails, was easy to make arrangements with and he came when he said he would. The room looks good and there was minimal mess. Happy to recommend.

Neil and the team made a great job of stripping very old and hard-to-remove wallpaper in our Victorian flat before applying lining paper and painting. Woodwork and old fireplace brought back to pristine condition too.
I had hesitated to contact Neil because he is based in Penicuik, but he is happy to work anywhere in the city and environs and always turns up on time. His team are experienced tradesmen with a very pleasant manner.
