JB Painting & Decorating

Jason Byrne and his apprentice, Joe, repaired the surrounds of 5 windows and painted 14 windows at our residential property. We were very happy with the quality of the work. Jason was quick to respond to all communications and turned up promptly when expected, unless the weather was bad, and then he would text to let us know. They were also pretty decent at clearing up.

Many thanks to Jason (and Joe!) who painted my entire flat to get it ready to put on the market, and kindly worked around their existing commitments to do so, to as I was in a rush to get onto the market.

They did a great job, very quickly and to a high standard, and let me know exactly when they were going to be there and what they were doing.

They were also very friendly, polite and professional.

I first spotting JB painting and decorating doing a shop next door. The time preparing got my attention. They did a fabulous job on it. So I got them in for a consultation and showed Jason a picture of the idea I was after on my salon. He studied the building for ages then explained the colour sequence he was going to use. Got a good quote, then he came in and showed me the colours till we got a perfect match that I was happy with. The job took 7 days in total and they were here on time everyday. There was a lot of preparation and he was able to get a joiner in to fix the door without me having the hassle of organising. I’m extremely happy with the result. Jason & Co decorated the hall of my very old byre conversion home. The walls were exceptionally lumpy and previous decorators had not addressed this problem so I hoped that Jason would have able to do so. The walls were filled and rubbed down before being painted which resulted in a massive improvement to their appearance. The lumps have all but disappeared. I look forward to having other areas of my home decorated by Jason & Co in the near future. They are everything and more you would want from a professional firm. I have no qualms in recommending them. In fact I already have.

The JB Painting & Decorating team stripped and painted my 6 over 6 sash and case windows and if I didn’t know better, I would think they installed brand new windows! The team was punctual, pleasant and professional. What struck me most was how meticulous their work was, with exceptional attention to detail. They also protected the furniture and flooring, and cleaned up every trace. They even patched up some gaps in the shutters which further attests to their perfectionism and pride in their work. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

They painted our newly installed window frames and did a very good and efficient job. Staff were friendly, reliable and helpful.

Jason and his team did the painting of all windows installed. It was extremely professional from the start to finish. The team worked very hard, were tidy and really helpful. Jason was always available and actually came out to help with something on a Saturday!

Living room wallpaper stripped and re papered Job well done, very pleased with the result, very clean and tidy hoover and mob everywhere and put all furniture back.

Jason and his team (Ryan and Joe) prepared and painted the outside of 5 sash and case windows, a pair of doors to the balcony, a metal balcony railing and decking on the balcony. Quite a bit of prep was required - scraping/sanding, putty, filler and sand mastic around the frames. There was a tight timescale and Jason was clear from the outset that this would be achievable. The workmanship and attention to detail were excellent, meaning that the end results look really good. With flexibility and experience, they got it all completed with 2 days to spare despite rain. They were punctual, reliable and respectful of the house - using dust protectors and tidying up afterwards. I'm very happy to recommend them and will be pleased to use them again.

Jason and co papered my hall and living room. The hall was tricky, involving quite a lot of plaster repair (and working at 5+metres...), but they did a fine job. They were reliable, friendly and skilful, and I'd happily recommend them.

JB have just prepared and painted my newly plastered living room. The work is of an exceptionally high standard. The decorator came when he said he would and worked late to finish. I would recommend this company.

The job was filling, patching, finishing and painting the walls and woodwork in three rooms in a basement flat. This is the second job JB has done for us. The first one, repainting sash windows, inside and out, made them first choice for the second.
Easy to deal with, trustworthy, excellent results. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I have used JB Painter and Decorator on three occasions over recent years. All the windows in my flat have been painted externally and internally, the kitchen has been redecorated and the front door and porch painted.
I have been consistently impressed by the standards of the firm. The preparation has been meticulous, the paintwork has been perfect and the clearing up each day and at the end of the job has been thorough.

Over the last 4 years they have painted almost every room in our 3 bedroom house and papered a couple of them and the work is excellent throughout. The place is always left clean and tidy and the guys are polite and friendly. Outside they have painted the gutters, downpipes and porch, also the front door which needed the old paint burnt off first. That was done 4 years ago and it's still looking good. I would have no hesitation recommending them.

We had our bedroom redecorated. Our room was a lime green wood chip wallpaper with an artex ceiling.

Just before lockdown the walls were stripped and the ceiling was plastered. Unfortunately, the work had to stop but Jason was in contact frequently and when conditions were eased he arrived promptly and the room was sorted in good time.

We did change our mind on how we wanted the room to look, but any changes were taken in his stride and to a high level.

He worked well around our family, was friendly and professional throughout.

I had my hall decorated by JB Painting and Decorating, in a two storey semi-detached Victorian villa. It was an awkward job involving indoor scaffolding to reach into the cupola and the top of the high ceilings. The walls had to be stripped then prepared, lined and painted. Inevitably in a house of this age, there were areas which needed replastering when the old paper was removed. A large radiator had to be drained and removed then put back again afterwards. There were fourteen doors to be painted, as well as the door to the attic, and the ceiling area into the main cupola, and a second smaller skylight/cupola.
Jason Byrne, the boss, arranged for the scaffolders and the plumber, and would have arranged for a plasterer (I had one already) and coordinated with them at the appropriate times for the job.
The decorators were always on time, and turned up when they said they would or contacted me to let me know if there was any change of plan. The job took about six weeks, with a real push on by his whole team at the end to meet a deadline I had for the new hall carpet to go down. The work ethic of the whole team, from the boss down to the apprentice was admirable - they worked solidly, whether alone or together (the apprentice was here initially mainly on his own, and he worked tirelessly and cheerfully at the relentless task of stripping such a large area). They were all respectful of the house and my family, and the fact that we were still living in the house as the work was carried out. They made a great effort to clean up at the end of each day, and left the place clean and tidy at the end of the whole job, removing all the rubbish.
They weren't the cheapest quote I had, but the advantage of having the other workmen arranged (scaffolders, plumber, plasterer etc) made the extra cost more worthwhile. Also, they were more than happy to return after the new carpet was laid to touch up some areas of the woodwork which had been slightly damaged when the carpet was being laid. I am really happy with the work carried out.
Altogether a great job done by a trustworthy and personable team of painters and decorators who take pride in their work.

Jason & the team have completed a few jobs for me over the years. I am always impressed by how professional the team are & the excellent finish of all work carried out.
