Derek Christie Plumbing and Heating Ltd is a family run plumbing and heating business who have been in the plumbing and heating industry for over 35 years. We specialise in design and installation of bathrooms, gas boiler installations, full central heating installations, all plumbing and heating projects, from leaking pipes to full bathroom refurbishments.
When under-taking any project we know this can be a stressful time, therefore, you can be rest assured that we will treat your property with the utmost respect as it is our standard practice to place dust sheets and leave all jobs clean and tidy.

I contacted Derek regarding the repair of a leaky toilet cistern. Derek is a highly reliable trader, approachable, conscientious and punctual. He provided an excellent service with great attention to details and very good communication throughout the process. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend Derek and I will come back to him for future work.

Called Derek to fix a cistern that was overflowing. He was reliable, punctual, did a great job and tidied up afterwards. I always appreciate when someone offers to remove their shoes (or put shoe covers on) on coming into the house, and he did that. Would definitely use again and happy to recommend.

Derek and his team almost entirely overhauled my bathroom, retiling the walls and floor, plastering the ceiling, and replacing the bath while retaining the sink and toilet. Everything was completed to a high standard. There was a problem about the grout's staining the tiles; Derek put in an excellent effort to fix this.
Derek was very friendly and easy to work with. He did a great job of guiding me through the whole process.

Derek completed a fully fitted new bathroom in my tenement flat recently. The work included tearing out the existing bathroom, replastering most of the room, installing tiles, panelling as well as a new bath, shower and toilet. Derek arranged this all and recommended a painter. All work was completed to a high standard. Derek was careful in the building, accommodating and supportive when we needed to make a last-minute change to the panelling. Derek's attention to detail is excellent, I was very pleased with the finishing work, particularly given that the angles in the space weren't even. Excellent job!

Had to change my bathroom to accommodate my elderly mother. Having no experience of finding the right trades person this kind of job, Derek Christie came highly recommended by a neighbour. Derek was very understanding and helpful in helping me remodel the space to remove the bath and replace with a walk-in shower. Although the it took a while to get a quote and fix a time for the work to be done, Derek was great at double checking the details and making sure everything was how I needed it to be. I am delighted with the result! I would happily employ Derek again.

Derek fitted a new spa bath for us. He did this with minimal disruption to the existing bathroom so we did not need any extra work done. I also really appreciated his punctuality and tidiness. I highly recommend him.

Derek and his team removed an old hot water tank that we had in the cupboard, installed a new boiler, fitted all new pipes for the boiler and also installed a new shower in the bathroom. Derek and his team were very reliable, very professional and worked to a very high standard. Communication was great and any questions we had were very well explained. We will definitely use Derek in the future and we have already recommended him to friends. Look no further if you are looking to get a job done.

Derek upgraded our bathroom and removed the bath and installed a walk in shower. He fitted new w.c and basin along with new bathroom furniture.
The flooring was replaced and ceiling panels fitted. He arranged the plastering and electrical work for us.
A very professional and tidy worker who cleared up and removed all the rubbish.

Derek refitted my en-suite bathroom for me; taking out the old bathroom suite, removing tiles and wallpaper from the walls and fitted a new bathroom suite and furniture. He also retiled the walls and tiled the bathroom floor. In addition Derek increased the water pressure by repairing/altering the boiler and moved a couple of radiators in the bedrooms. The work was carried out to a very high standard within the planned work schedule, at a very reasonable price. Derek has done work for me previously and I have recommended Derek to friends who have also been very happy with the excellent service he provides.

The work required was a total refit of our bathroom including all tiling and plumbing and prepare the additional toilet floor and bathroom floor ready for fitting vinyl. Derek and his team were very punctual, professional, pleasant, friendly and very tidy!
Derek did a fantastic job of the bathroom and a number of other extra tasks such as to redirect the bathroom water supply to the main water supply from a roof tank, fit new taps in the toilet and fit some of the bathroom accessories with the end result exceeding our expectations.
All the work was carried out efficiently and properly and within the planned timescales.
We are delighted with our new bathroom and would not hesitate to recommend Derek to anyone thinking of having similar work done.

He can work solo or can organise a team of other skilled tradesmen with great efficiency. Shower leak investigated and fixed, shower door removed, tiles stripped and everything replaced. Multiple old radiators replaced with new including some plumbing adjustments to suit new metric sizes. Boiler serviced. Solar hot water system fixed and re-commissioned. Derek was polite, helpful when asked to do additional work, good at communicating through the Covid lockdown ( he started work before and finished work after lockdown) and his work was of a high standard. Clearly a trader who cares about the quality of his work and ensuring he does a thorough job to the satisfaction of his customers. Would definitely use again and have no hesitation recommending him.
